Terrano 2.7TDi for Spares or Repair

No pic showing for me. :-( If the wing repair is on the outer wing, then that shouldn't be an MOT concern. The wings are solely bolted on and are in no way part of the structural body. However, the inner wings do rot and that would be a MOT fail. I'd see if you can get a better quote first as...

    gearbox oil

Doubt it - I have a funny feeling that it's supposed to make 1st gear a little harder to engage in winter especially - can be used to flush her through if need be! You're up this way next month aren't you? I have about 5L of 80-90 GL4 sitting here that I mistakenly ordered, you're welcome to it...

Wrong oil mate, you want 75-90 anyway!

    Mk1 front indicators

Sorry for any hijack Fez, but if anyone's bash their indicators, they might be looking for a front fog or two for a MK1 as well - I do have a pair, somewhere in the shed.

    Worried about air intake

Definitely snorkel time mate - best thing you can do is hide that bumper under water! :D

Best way remove motor oil from pavement blocks?

It's not Gylcerin you need, but the Glyc by product from making biodiesel - that stuff is pretty good at cleaning most things off. Know any bio makers nearby - see you've been asking the same over on VOD forum too. I seem to recall being told that Listerine is very good at cleaning off oil...

    gearbox oil

I'm fairly sure that for our cooler climate we should be using EP75-90, as 80-90 is a bit too thick, and can make getting into gear that little bit harder.

    Rear Wiper Blade Size

I think it depends on the back window shape, my old '96 truck had a different rear wiper to the 2001 version. Not sure if the wiper is any different in size though.

    Calling all Edinburgh Members

I think that would be me! Send us a PM mate of the date you're after. Hotel's are busy as a one legged bloke in an ar$e kicking competition in August so you'll be miles out if you want cheap! I have a few family birthdays, etc. in August, but depending on the date, could probably put you guys up.

    filter change

'bout the only one you can easily used from above. I reach down the back of the engine and slip the belt part around the filter and then tighten her up. Once the seal is broken, it's fairly easy to undo by hand and then drop, sorry carefully lift out, from the engine and replace with a shiny new...

    filter change

I used one of these to get the filter off, everything else I tried was a pain in the rear end in comparison. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Laser-2830-Filter-Wrench-Metal/dp/B003AMVZWC/ref=sr_1_1?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1404727103&sr=1-1&keywords=oil+filter+wrench

    is it legal?is it possible?

When I was a young 'un, we used to get taken to school in a landie as the school bus. Few years in and they had to remove the spares from the bonnet after some horrendous accident where the spare came off the mountings and decapitated the driver/passenger. Not sure if it's road legal for...

    £400 terrano

Looks like either a steal with a clean of the mini filter, new fuel lines and the swirl pot cleaning out, or a load of work replacing a knackered IP! Body looks to be in fairly good nick though.

HELP Please PC locked me out

Rick, sounds like you were saying the keys weren't working correctly in the BIOS screen, if you don't have a USB keyboard lying around to try, shout and I'll send you one. If it's just a duff keyboard, then they are quite easy to change out without too much expense - happy to do it for you if...

    Wanted '96 wiring looms

Mel, I have a 1996 Mk1 LWB diesel that may well get broken - there's a guy in Fife that's interested in it for the wheels/tyres and the leather seats. Maybe you could come to an agreement with him for the looms? Or, of course, you could have the lot and sell the bits he wants on to him! :lol...
