    Caravan insurance

if you look here - http://caravanpriceguide.com/ it will give you used prices for most types of van. The price for british vans is slightly higher in Ireland but continental vans are usually a similar price. Regards Lee

    Caravan insurance

Hi Liam What age is the van? If it is quite young and you are in the caravan club then their insurance is the best. You get new for old cover and they tend to be no quibble - pay out readily. My insurance for a 2007 compass, valued at 14500 is £27 per month new for old. I could get it cheaper...

    British Army

no we're not - want to fight about it!!!:lol seriously though. It is nice that attitudes are thawing but its taking over three generations for trust to start. Alot of people have a stylised idea of Ireland in general and forget that great constitutional diversity of opinion exists, to greater...

    Democracy in action

Hi Liam I must admit if we in the North were allowed a referendum (at least you get one in the South) I would probably vote yes with a few caveats. The writing is on the wall - the world is changing at a great pace and I dont think it is wise to go it alone for much longer. If Europe became a...

    4/5 berth caravan wanted

Hi Liam I would go for a continental van. There are loads of Hobby dealers in Ireland. The Hobbys are cheap (I dont think they have VAT on them for some strange reason) and are built well. Travellers use them extensively for their outfits so they will cope with the worst of Irish winter...

    Just curious

I have caravanned both sides of the border. Friends say that the ferries are far too expensive to come over to Ireland from the mainland - much cheaper to go to France from England. I must admit though that I am reticent when touring the south because of my Northern accent - troubles an ol...

Help! Getting set of spare keys.

Not all key cutters - but a proper locksmith will be able to do it at less cost. Sometimes blank keys come up in ebay - a good locksmith would be able to programme the key. The programming for the remote is easy peasy and would not need anyone to do it - the download is straight forward...

    Rear tyres scrubbing

Hi All and thanks for all the replies. The tyres are the ones below. I was wondering could it be due to the LSD oil????? My filler plug is leaking and whilst there is likely to be a fair bit of oil in there, i am sure it would not be the correct level. Cooper Discoverers 235/70R16 H/T on...

    Rear tyres scrubbing

I had it 26 in the front and 29 in the rear (even when not towing) but the scrubbing continues so i would have thought that if the rear were to wear they would do so in the centre of the tread???? The make of tyre is 'cooper discoverer' H/T. Cheers Lee

    Rear tyres scrubbing

I'm a bit like Mr. Slow from top gear:rolleyes::lol. i dont go fast at all in it. However now that you mention it, the truck is used by wifey in the evenings for her work as a district nurse and she goes like a bat out of hell. Maybe the riddle is solved remedy --- divorce:eek::eek::lol...

    Rear tyres scrubbing

Thanks for the reply. The back tyres are inflated to the recommended psi for towing my caravan (I think 29 of the top of my head). When not towing there is littleweight in the back. When I first got the pressure checked, they were at 35psi, which I lowered to the recommended setting and the...

    Rear tyres scrubbing

Thanks for the reply. It is only the back wheels. When i first got round to checking the tyre pressure about 6-7 weeks after i got the T2, they were all too high and I lowered the pressure to the correct value as on the owners manual. I thought originally that the high pressure was to help...

    Leaking rear diff oil

I dont make much sense do I??:doh:lol I tried a long socket bar to shift it but it was well stuck and the last time I forced something on the T2 I broke the head off the nut:doh. I have given it a good spray with WD40 and will see if it shifts in the next few days, failing that I'll try...

    Rear tyres scrubbing

Thanks for the replies. I have no mods to the original specifications. The tyres are standard tyres on it and since I am useless with anything mechanical, I think they are road tyres as opposed to all terrain or mud tyres (the side wall has H/T on it ??? road tyres). The tyres were new when I...
