Hi All

I have noticed that there is a leak from the oil filler hole in the rear diff. Obviously there is very little coming out since it is only filled to be this level.

It must leak when moving about.

Would ptfe tape work on this or is the temps involved too high?

I should mention that the plug is seized in (so probably leaking because of corrosion).

Any ideas:confused:

Thanks

hi lee, how will you be able to put ptfe tape on it if you cant get it out, have you tried along socket bar to try and shift it?, if it was mine i would heat it up, that normaly cures the problem.:thumbs:lol

I dont make much sense do I??:doh:lol

I tried a long socket bar to shift it but it was well stuck and the last time I forced something on the T2 I broke the head off the nut:doh.

I have given it a good spray with WD40 and will see if it shifts in the next few days, failing that I'll try heating it.

Once it is shifted, would the ptfe tape work or would it just melt with the heat??

Thanks
Lee

and use a decent penetrating oil, WD40 isn't the best in that department...
