    Can anyone tell be if wire 4 RD/BE is a constant +5v? Also has anyone measured the voltage of wire 5 BE/WE coming out of the MAF at say 1500 revs and the corresponding voltage out of the amp? I understand that most MAF amps work on a 10% voltage increase but could do with some verification.

    MAF replacement- what a difference!!!

    It seems the type of MAF is dependent on the diesel pump fitted. Either Bosch or Hitachi. Yes really pleased that I now have confirmation that engine and fuel pump are OK. Not so happy about having to take the starter off again tomorrow as it's refurb lasted all of a week.

    That is an interesting idea. At a starting price of £22 on eBay for the setup with just one remote or £26 ISH for two then the remote switch could well be an option. Although it seemingly would have to be used on the negative cable as they all seem to specify.

    Looking across eBay there are many of these from 3 ltr that have the same code numbers to the 2.7 but they all seem to come with the fuses as well. Is this because they do not unclip in the same way and have different connectors? My thought was being newer they might have fewer issues.

    Would do but car is parked on the side of a busy road and at the moment battery will no longer start it. Will have to wait until I can get a jump start and move it tomorrow. I can then get it to a safer place and hopefully pick up new battery and replacement MAF
