This is the connection diagram I did, so I could make mine able to be unplugged, and the wiring to be put back to how it was Pre-Maf Amp should I need to... It gives the connections and wire colours....
I don't think there is any way to make this any more simple, and if you can't follow these instructions, then I guess you will either need to find someone else to do it for you. or as you say, give up....
Please read these all the way through, and think about them... you can't just skim read them, every word is important!!!
There are 4 wires on the MAF Amp...
Red is the 12v supply needed for the MAF amp to work
Green is the Ground, again needed for the MAF amp to work
Orange in the Input to the MAF Amp (from the cars MAF)
White is the Output from the MAF Amp (to the cars ECU)
The idea is, that you take the signal from the MAF of the car, and pass it through the MAF amp, then once the MAF Amp has done it's magic, it sends it on to the cars ECU...
To do this, you have to cut the original signal wire (Blue/White) that runs between the cars MAF and the ECU, effectively inserting the MAF Amp into the circuit...
Conveniently, all the wires needed to run the MAF Amp are also on the cars MAF, so all the connections can be carried out there, saving you having to scrabble round to find supplys and earths..
On the cars MAF, there are 4 wires...
Yellow is the 12v supply
Green/Red is the Ground wire
Red/Blue is a 5v supply (We do not need to touch this wire!!!)
Blue/White is the signal wire from the cars MAF to the ECU
So to connect the MAF amp to the cars MAF you need to do the following...
Connect the 12v up by connecting the MAF Amps Red wire to the cars MAF Yellow wire. You only need to use something like a scotchlok to connect these wires in Parallel.
Next, connect the ground up by connecting the MAF Amps Green wire to the cars MAF Green/Red wire. You only need to use something like a scotchlok to connect these wires in Parallel.
Lastly, you need to connect the signal wire to be passed through the MAF Amp... To do this, you CUT the blue/white wire on the cars MAF...
Leave enough wire at the cars MAF side to be able to connect back to, so ideally about 50m from the MAF.
Now take the cut Blue/White wire that is still connected to the cars MAF Amp, and connect this to the Orange input wire on the MAF Amp...
Lastly, take the other end of the cut Blue/White wire, that is connected to the car ECU, and connect this wire to the White wire on the MAF Amp...
You then set the MAF Amp up as Ray has mentioned in the other threads...
