    jims-terrano Project

Thanks for the link. I received the camera/monitor yesterday and checked my car where you mentioned the hole. Usually I haven't got enough time on weekdays, will look into a bit more over the weekend;)

    jims-terrano Project

Jim, what a brilliant story and great work to revive the truck:thumb2 I'm now particularly interested in your way to put a reverse cam on as I've just bought it and started wondering how I'd do this. Might just wait for your next update before doing it by myself :naughty

key fob - a blade triggers alarm?

Thank you. As the little buttons on the board was broken on one of my keys, I have replaced them today. Been a while since I used the soldering gun;) But I haven't programmed yet - does this have to be done even though both of my keys are working? (Apart from their keyblades trigger the alarm)

wheel bearing, antiroll bar linkages, steering idler arms....to be replaced

Wow, Rick, what a generous offer. Thank you! Let me see their response first as the owner replied to me saying "Wow, these parts are cheap, but I will check with them where actually these parts were made".

Air intake pipe with a small hall?

    * hole (from the beginning):doh I really thought it was a hole - but possibly a small leaf or something. But for my future reference - I'd get a silicon sealant as I haven't got it.

Air intake pipe with a small hall?

Thank you all - I was late to take a pic in the darkness with flash, but managed to take one. I realised this could be a hole by looking at this picture taken shortly after I bought this car; Then today I re-took the same pipe (sorry for different angle) The fist pic must show a something...

key fob - a blade triggers alarm?

I see, so that's the way it goes with Terrano then. Yes, I've replaced the batteries only a couple of weeks back. Will check out the download section.

wheel bearing, antiroll bar linkages, steering idler arms....to be replaced

Thanks for your explanation and advise, Jim. I will have a look at manual (haven't used the download section yet). At least this is something I need to ask someone who can do the job. What I was surprised at the most was that the fact MOT didn't show up any of these parts to be replace when it...

wheel bearing, antiroll bar linkages, steering idler arms....to be replaced

Thank you very much for this!:thumb2 and shame you are not in London. I see they are keen to charge me plus adding unnecessary quantity. Thought they were good as they've been running for maybe around 20 years, but possibly living off from Japanese customers. Anyway, maybe I can try to find...

key fob - a blade triggers alarm?

Oh really? My partner didn't know this and I had a call from her being upset when she was trying to get things from the boot:doh As the buttons are very fiddly and I thought it's ok to use the keyblade if the buttons didn't work, but I found it a bit annoying when I'm an owner yet she started...

wheel bearing, antiroll bar linkages, steering idler arms....to be replaced

Hi all, Recently I brought my car to the garage that I've known for the past 15 years and asked them to pre-check my Terrano before MOT (in Dec) - although they said it didn't look too bad considering age, they found the front wheel a bit wobbly when they were checking underneath of the car...

Air intake pipe with a small hall?

Hi, I've got a question regarding the air intake pipe. I will check today again but after inspecting pictures that I took the engine compartment recently I realised there might be a small hall on the air intake pipe near from the air filter side. I look for the parts and these are not too...

key fob - a blade triggers alarm?

Hi all, I have a question. I've got this 2001 Terrano II 2.7 Tdi and got two keys. I found these keys actually trigger the alarm when the key blade is used to open the door. One key works on remote, the other is getting knackered which I suppose those two little button part needs to be...

    Replacing headlight bulbs

Hi Jim, well I saw the bulb already being loose from the socket when I was struggling to pull up the clip (doh!), I suppose it'd be ok. Good skill if you did it! Soldering is still something I'd feel far away from usable technique for me.

    Replacing headlight bulbs

Thank you, Rick. Ahhhh, a bit wasted today but will do it tomorrow - and all front lights will be replaced except winkers.:thumbs

    Replacing headlight bulbs

Sorry to ask this daft question - I was trying to replace the headlight bulbs (H4) today to Night Breaker, but I couldn't as I wasn't sure why the bulb wasn't released, stuck in the socket. I know there are two clips thingy on the side but are they pushed to release the bulb? (I was trying to...

    Getting Terrano tomorrow....

Thanks, Jim. It encourages me to do a bit of work on my Terrano. Only rusts are bit of let down though. Still waiting for quotation for all engineering bits. zippy656 Yeah, I'd replace it without hesitation if the hazard light is not involved. Just I feel a bit troublesome if I have to do...
