    LDV,Transit or other

Yes pointless, and you do know it all, you come on here asking so many questions and then contradict/ignore the advice you receive.

    LDV,Transit or other

I was referring to a diesel. Thats what a gmc 6.5 turbo D is. The clue is in the "D" I thought that cost wasn't a problem anymore. ;) Anyway, I'm finished with this tongue in cheek stuff now. Not much point asking questions when you already have all the answers. :thumb2

    IF Only

I travelled best part of 600 miles round trip to get my Patrol. Sometimes u have to do these things.

Very Odd Anyway here's a Rover V8 one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EyXebDVGna8 Stick a GMC 6.5 V8 turbo D from a hummer in it then. Can put gas injection on that. Should have enough torque to snap the splines off the input shaft.

    LDV,Transit or other

I hope so, cos if you can even find insurance to cover you it's gonna cost thousands. Anyway you seem to have it all covered so maybe you can have a look for a V8 LDV 400. I used to drive them in a previous job. Bloody awesome vehicle if you can still find one. You could even put a 3.9 EFI...

Don't take this the wrong way, it's not meant in a nasty way but you're a loonball. I admire your enthusiasm but you need to listen to people and accept that unless you're rather wealthy then at your age you need to concentrate on at most 2 things. Getting your licence and ONE vehicle that is...

Have you seen the price of van insurance ? Commercial = insurance companies rubbing hands together.

    toy for the wife

Looks good in the listing. If it's as good close up, it's a lot of motor for the money. :D

I'm Ever So Proud Of My Son

Fantastic :thumb2 I'll never forget my first solo. "Everybody wants to rule the world" was on the radio as I drove back from the airfield. I felt brilliant and I'm sure he does too. Congrats :D

    12v power supply sorted

just a really quick look on ebay finds this. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Car-Battery-booster-jump-start-compressor-12v-boat-van-portable-12-volt-power-/140990960129?pt=UK_Recovery_Tools&hash=item20d3b75201 I'm sure there's more and maybe cheaper

    12v power supply sorted

As said, lead acid battery in bedroom= bad idea. Did you think about one of those cheap start n charge packs ? They have a sealed battery in them plus are easily charged and the batteries inside them are designed to be cycled unlike a car battery which will soon die if you keep discharging it.

    Winch wiring, multi point ?

Sounds simple enough and you shouldn't need a diode in there. I take it you are using an SPDT or DPDT switch. When your on/off/on switch is set to outside all your doing is supplying power exclusively to the wanderlead which only needs a small current to operate the coils on the solenoids...

    Winch bumper

Kind of hard to describe, but if you make the centre winch tray and plates that are going to attach it to chassis from the 9 mil then make the side/end pieces from 4 or 5mil, you will have plenty of strength without having to wind your torsion bars up too much to take the added weight of winch...

    oops

Well, I'm not familiar with your motor, but if it's a cable operated clutch, have a look at the gearbox end and see if there is any slack in the cable that can be adjusted out a little. Don't over adjust it though, or you could end up with a slipping clutch.

    Winch bumper

9mm would be good for the centre mounting part. That should do even for a 12000lb winch :D Prob too thick for the outer parts though, unless you want it massively heavy
  18. Nav230

    oops

First thoughts... There's prob no syncro on reverse (lots of vehicles don't have it) and if clutch is dragging slightly that wud give the symptoms u describe. Because there is syncromesh on forwards gears then it can mask a slightly dragging clutch. Is the clutch right at the bottom ? Does it...

Made a Snorkel for my Patrol

No sunroof in my motor and I drilled 10mm holes for the rivnuts and didn't see any wires inside when I painted the edges of the holes. Might be different on a Terrano though.

Made a Snorkel for my Patrol

Not sure if you are asking about my Patrol or the other Terrano, but on mine I put M6 rivnuts in the screen pillar and bolted into my upright tube(you can just get a hand inside to put the nuts on) The bracket plate is ally and tho it's not very thick it is a hard grade leftover back from my...
