I wanted the winch to sit higher up to improve the approach angle so I modded the brackets to get it to the right position.

Got it to where I want it making sure the clutch lever on the winch is accessible and usable.
Ready for cleaning up and welding.
Then it's into making the skin of the bumper from 3mm plate.

Looking forward to seeing this take shape!

I think it's time I replaced my steel cable with a synthetic rope! (That steel one scares the sh!t outta me!)

Yeah I'm always on edge when using the steel rope.
Seen some nasty accidents involving steel cable winches:eek:

Got the first part of the front made up.
Needs a bit of tweaking to fit nice but nothing I can't sort out.

Also decided to just go with a couple of infill plates rather than a full cover over the winch for ease of access :thumb2

Thats starting to look the part! Can't wait to see the finished article.

Looks to me like your clutch lever is a bit tight already, Rick

It's close on the bottom of the grill but easy enough to get at and operate with the tray left open.
I did toy with the idea of a hinged grill then access would be no issue at all.

The winch tray and housing is 6mm and the rest is 3mm.
Going to be a heavy lump when it's done.

I have a stack of 2.5mm sheet to use for the outer pieces on my bumpers, I have yet to pull the remains of the front bumper off and repair the accident damage and see what rot is hidden in there.

I think it looks far too aggressive for a road going motor, but that is just my opinion, it is grand for what it has to do though, Rick
