The next village is 100mls towards the Yukon in Northern territory of Canada,it was supposed to be called Ptarmigan but no one could spell it so they changed the name to Chicken

Thanks guys for the comments,there is a shed load more to tell you and loads more photo/pics. but if it's getting boring please let me know.and i'll get back to to tell how i changed an indicator bulb.lol

There was one bar and a couple cabins in Chicken but we had to spend the night in the carpark as the border to Canada did not open until 10am

The "top of the world highway" as it's known closes in the winter so some of the trucks the locals use are odd to say the least.

And then onward to Dawson City where Bob and his elder brother had claims this is the Klondike river,gold was found in 1898 and this is where the stampeders where trying to get to 40,000 set off but only 4,000 made it to strike a claim others had to work for those who had the claims some would end up cutting timber to feed the stern wheelers on the Yukon.
Now on this building there are the 2gallon petrol cans that have been flattened to act as slates

Another old building, it is so dry this area of the Yukon buildings and vehicles don't rot, terranos and alike would last forever
