im having lots of problems again with my laptop :( , its running really slow , this is despite me clearing history/cookies etc, ive done av scans and always ensure my av is up to date .

my lappy is a advent 5411

its about 2 and a half years old , but still quite high spec

4mb ram

320 gb hard drive

t5750 dual core processor

i have have a supposedly fast internet connection , but it seems to take ages to load web pages ...... if at all , i quite often get the message " internet explorer cannot display the web page " .

im constantly refreshing to try and display web pages , sometimes it works , sometimes not

i suspect i have aquired years of accumulted junk , but removing it is proving difficult , perhaps im wrong d its just my lappy is getting old ?

do you use virgin media for your internet? if so try turning off the modem for 30 seconds, it happens to me from time to time, i just turn off router and modem for 30 seconds then turn back on and all is fine

i dont use internet explorer got too many bugs, why not try firefox or google chrome

tried firefox , but its difficult to work out where " favourites " is , saves typing in web addresses ......... havent tried google chrome yet , but tried opera too

its too late tonight anyway, and ive gotta go for a test tomorrow at the hospital , on a good note firefox hasnt crashed /told me it cant find the web page ........ YET

you shouldnt get any probs with it pete m8 i been using it for years got fed up of internet explorer saying stuff like `INTERNET EXPLORER HAS ENCOUNTERED AN ERROR AND NEEDS TO CLOSE` `INTERNET EXPLORER CAN NOT DISPLAY THE PAGE YOU ARE LOOKING FOR`` BLAH BLAH BLAH lol

yeah , seems to be loads faster , one thing is worrying me though , why does it keep dissing me and i have to sign in again ?

but it seems a hell of a lot better , more stable , faster , and bigger writing ( easier to see ) ...... top marks so far :thumb2

yeah, Firefox is the way to goPete, id stick with it and get used to it. you can import your favourites from IE anyway if you havent already. I still use IE, but thats because I have to debug problems in the job that I do, so I have to keep up with the problems, rather than ignore them! :(

Firefox 4 is quite an improvement :)

Chrome is the quickest still though. On Mac OS X anyhow.
