jonela is right, well impressed, particularly that red work top how did you do those water spouts and basins? Rick

Composite smelly glue colour coded to work top. Then much sanding and increasing grades to whatever shine or sheen finish punter wants :)
Router and random orb sander, big piss off vacuum and masks :doh
A bit like your injectors Rick, cleanliness IS indeed all :thumb2
It's what I do most weeks.
I design supply and fit bespoke kitchens :D

I fabbed the Worktops from lg himacs. I form a sub straight from mdf then the Himacs comes in 12mm thick sheets, I form the edges by building it downwards with rips glued and clamped then it all gets routered and sanded up

The red boiler taps were dropped into recesses that I routered out by hand working to a clamp on straight edge and corners done free hand ( my arse was twitching I can tell thee :D )

Very nice, do not think I would have the patience now, best I can handle is formica and joins with a router, although have been asked to do a wood block WT next week that has been oiled, so not sure if my plastic router base will mark it never done one before, but hope to do it from the underside, as it is square edged and use a waste but cramped on the edge to stop it splitting, any other tips would be gratefully received, such as the best glue to use on the one corner joint with biscuits and bolts, Rick

I do square edged oak with my ts55 plunge saw now, really quick, only use router for Belfast sinks

But just use your router as you would if doing laminate, except I just do A but joint in corner no need for butt and scribe joint with jig, and your router base won't mark the oak

Biscuit joint it and only glue if it's a short length. You should allow for the oak to move. So a good silicone will suffice for the joint and then bolt clamps to keep the joint tight :thumbs

WoW, what an abundance of varied trades etc, will be depending on you to run this country when it goes tits up, I myself worked in the steel industry, galvanising mainly and some plastic coated steels hp200,for 30yrs, then volunteered for redundancy at 50 never looked back,iv'e been making trailers-gates and-ballastrade since the 80s, retired now and looking after both terranos and taking caravan down narrow lanes where the grass grows in the middle,

Lg himacs ? is that the same as Corian ?

Thanks for that Pete, it is Iroko, and the join will be 600 mm corner and I am not sure about the oiling as it will/may effect the bond, it also has a Belfast sink that they have designed the WT to "but" to the sides and back of the sink with no WT at the front and about 10 mm higher but the sink is not perfectly straight on the sides, I think it would have been better to have the WT sitting on the sink, what are your thoughts, Rick

I always have a Belfast under top with Worktop over hanging about 25mm to the 3 sides. I cut a trenched "drip" about 5 mm deep on the underside about 10mm back to stop water running back along underside of top

Here's one I did a couple of years ago

They are shit btw, I'd never have one, most customers hate them after a couple of weeks unless they have a dish washer and its just for show, as they are so deep your back aches from bending over

I usually talk customers out of having one :D

I am a electronics engineer, working in production. Only a small business but we ship worldwide most days.

Also do some of the packing of the stuff we make.

that sounds like how I would design it, makes perfect sense, as they have fitted the sink already I do not know if it can be altered, perhaps I should stay quiet, but problem is making a nice job of the sink WT junction all I can think of is a nice bead of brown silicon but it will not be long lived, or as the WT is about 10 mm higher put a rebate so the 10 mm bit overhangs but it does not give me a lot to play with for a drip groove, and also the block joins will be weakened, ??? Totally agree, would not have one even if gifted, but cannot talk them out of it as he has done all the rest himself and made a nice job, although not to my taste, but he baulked at the WT as has no router etc, only got involved cos the front door 3 ft x 7 ft timber half glazed has rotted and will have to be replaced, Rick

Tractors are good especially when they are grey and made by Harry's company:thumbs

Much respect for the grey Fergie :thumb2 although I'm an International man myself... and it is nice having a cab and power steering! :lol
