Y61 compass and thermometer

from day one since i brought the patrol my thermometer has been reading '---'

i brought a workshop cd from ebay, has helped me out loads but this has got me confused

its saying my ambient air temperature sensor has broken, but where the bloody hell is it

Not sure at all, but on other motors they are often in around the back of the headlight / radiator area.

Sorry if this is of no use mate, but have you read what it sez in the hand book bout setting the meter :?:

yep my handbook only says about the compass
