Finally found a y60 with the best underside i have seen in a few years and this thing is solid however i paid more than i wanted for an older truck than i wanted but i didnt want to buy something with weeks of welding as i just dont have the time or inclination to lay under a truck welding these days id rather be doing something else or using the truck..

Please don't ruin it!!!! I know you have the right plans for it and seen the quality of your mods before so I know it's in good hands, the first thing I said to myself when I saw the pic was "First job I'd do is put some standard Patrol mirrors back on that" :lol :lol

As this is a safari the plastic wheel arches were not fitted to all models so the arches are very solid but the new wheels and tyres ( not the ones in pics ) stick out and are -35 so i have added some rubber extensions.

Got the rear springs and shocks in. And dinitrol rust prevention sprayed underneath and all cavities.

Loads of clearance behind rear wheels now will look epic as with new bumper.

Tidy engine bay for 26 years old especially as its a truck but only 100,000kms so 60,000 miles if its genuine. 4.2 straght 6 silver top, i love them.

Front speakers were original and way way past there best. Modern speakers are alot deeper and would catch on windows so took a bit of work. Cut out the old grills and made up new inserts and covered in black alcantara cloth.

Looks like a good un mate, what's it drive like?

Drives lovely, tight and very responsive, everything works including air con, no rattles and just doesnt feel old... I have absolutly no history just the service prior to me buying which isnt ideal but i do have some knowledge of these trucks and bought anyway as if i didnt someone else would have.. All fluids and lubes look perfect and i was told the previous owner of 12 years did look after her and traded in for a dodge ram.

My mate came back from poland today after a drop off and brought back some presents for me.

I decided to buy some bumpers rather than make some up due to time and not having enough of it, also this truck will be more of a green laner rather than a hardcore playsite truck so these will do the job. also got my replacement y61 front bumper that mr k had off me a couple of weeks ago which i will fit one day. :augie:augie

Also got a snorkel, its a safari copy and for around £40 its bloody good quality infact its all very good, bumpers are galv then powder coated.
And finally some front 2" lift front bump stops.

A couple of update pictures. Springs and shocks all in now.. Put some new front brake pads in aswell as they were pretty low.. One more wheel arch extension on and one to go.. Also fitted a new exhaust front pipe which came off reasonably easily considering its been on 26 years, just needed some heat... Longer brake lines and fluid flush tomorrow evening..
