Agree with you completely bud!

Good work mate, your doing the right things so I'm sure she'll be fine. Looking forward to seeing the progress :thumb2

Cheers mate, I'll post up the next bits when I can get back to it. If I can get the engine running sweet then there's a load of preservation work to do on a pretty solid undercarriage. There's a bit of body work and spraying that needs doing but I need to get the sooty exhaust under control.

Knocked together a box for the gauges from an old electrical appliance case. I wanted both in the same place where I could easily keep an eye on them without being distracted from the road. I also wanted the boost gauge in line of sight with the rev counter. A bit rough and ready but it will do what I want for now.

Nice to see the engine running nice and cool :lol:lol

Hey Mick, that's a boost only gauge in your pod (no vac).
Where did you get that from?

Thanks for that Mick.:thumb2
Is your gauge illuminated for night driving?
The ad is a bit unclear.

Davey Boy, I ran two core wire for both gauges from the radio supply so they both get power at ignition. The egt gauge would have needed it anyway so I just wired both up.

It's interesting that the diesel specific boost gauge is a little more expensive than the others from the same range at that shop. They are good and simple, robust enough and I quite like the older fashioned look.

I like the aesthetics of that a lot!!! Only problem I'd have with something like that is I mount too much "sh*t" as Rick would call it on my windscreen :lol :lol

Is that the right type of gauge for the 2.7TDi too?

Keep your box small then :lol

Certainly is it's diesel specific, no vacuum

Go on, you know you want to :augie:augie

It matches the one I'm running at the moment, except for the vac scale.
Nice find Mick!

Just got an email to say that the valves are on their way from Darren Dawes. The needle valves had gone out of stock when my order went through and they leak test their new stock prior to dispatch.
