i followed workshop download 10 yesterday - cleaning the mini fuel filter, its worked wonders and i done the cleaning of the bosch unit too from the downloads. Only prob is ive now got squeaky power steering!! its not when its on full lock, it when i initially turn the wheel to park etc at slow speed.
Have i done something to it when loosening the steering power bolt to clean the mini filter????

didnt realise such a late model of t2 had the mini filter - was under impression only on phase one non intercooled r20's and mistrals.

sorry cant help with query but sure someone will be along soon.

hi rag1873, does it sound like the drive belt on the power steering is squeaking/slipping? It could be that you have not tightened the belt enough when you put the power steering pump back in to position. if so then undo the tension bolt at the top of the pump and move the pump a little more to the left(if you are standing facing the front of the car).

It turned out it didnt have a mini filter... just an inline filter thingy so i gave it a clean anyway seen as i had went to all that bother!!!

Sounds like that might be the problem t-jay... thanks for your help

at least you got to know a little bit more about your truck :!:

Yip, i may not know a lot about mechanics but im willing to learn and with the easy download instructions i plan to do a bit more to the truck!!

good on ya :!: its sertainly an easier way to learn about the mechanics of your truck and with the back-up of over 800 members.

Thats why im willing to do a bit more to the truck coz i know if i mess up anything i'll be able to get it sorted again through the club members advice.....

maybe slack belt and few drops derv on belt pully when u pulled banjo bolt out

Have tightened the belt as you recommended t-jay!! Seems to have solved the problem.
Silly question but is it possible to over tighten it??

Cheers jace, i went out and slackened it off a bit just incase!!!

if you do it to tight it will wear nose bearings on pumps/alternator etc by extra presure it puts on them

hopefully the problems solved. if it continues it might be time to replace belt as they become hard and brittle.
