Hi, I'm a new member who loves her Nissan Mistral but is becoming increasing frustrated at not being able to sort out the vehicles window wiper issue!!

All of a sudden the wipers wouldn't stop and won't turn off if engine is running!! Have changed wiper stalk ... no difference ... so changed the wiper motor but problem is still the same!!

Any help/suggestions on what could be causing this and how to fix it would be very gratefully received!!

Cheers

Rats, I'm all out of sensible suggestions:doh
So I'll just say welcome instead:thumbs
I'm sure there'll be a boffin along soon:augie
Good luck:cool:

a worn ignition barrel maybe:nenau
i have a simular problem.when wipers are on and i just turn car off they keep going and stereo keeps playing.have to wiggle key on and off a few times to stop it.
i gave it a squirt with wd40 and this helped mine.

welcome to the club:thumbs

I had that on a coulpe of terranos only way to stop the wipers was to turn ignition off then they went off until you used them again what about a sticking relay?

Hi Jules, sounds like a sticking relay to me too. Not 100% sure on Mistral but my Terrano has a relay box in the engine bay. Mounted on the inner wing on the drivers side and has a plastic cover on, the cover has a diagram explaining what relay does what. There have been postings about this before but you'll have to dig through for a while to find them I think.

Hi Jules. WELCOME TO THE CLUB.
I seam to recall there was also a problem with the self park and delay on these trucks .
Its on the wiper motor (plastic cover I think) contacts wear out.
anyone remember this from a long time ago.

Wiper Issue!!

Hi Everyone,

Apologies for the delay in responding but glad to report that my wipers are now working EXACTLY as they should!!

Thx to everyone who replied and YES it was the relay (even though it had been ok before wiper arm changed etc....apparently!!).

Anyway, all OK now so Cheers Everyone. X
