my passenger rear window wont go up. ive checked the motor, switch and loom in another terrano and all work fine. the strange thing is that there is power coming to the motor from the plug when the swith is used. its not getting stuck on anything as the motor wont go up when its not fitted in the door either. any ideas?

If there is power to the motor but it refuses to work I would suggest the motor is faulty.

How did you test power is going to it? :thumb2

Are your seals and channels clean and lubricated, I found one of my rear windows was getting very slow, I cleaned the seals and spayed the area with silicone spray and now it works fine.
The other thing could be the window workings have broken, if the motor, switch and loom all work in another vehicle, it is something in that window/door, that is stopping the glass from moving.

So would the window lower electrically?

if so, could be the relay might have welded contacts, or poor connection.
Is there any evidence of water ingress around the area?

Some cars are prone to the wiring loom from the door pillar to the door breaking a wire, but as your is a rear door, it won't have had that much use, so unlikely, unless it was a taxi lol.

Don't be in too much haste parting with the other truck, as you might be cannibalising that for spares.:nenau

ive tried 3 motors which all work on the terrano im scrapping, also changed the door loom and switch. the window will lower electicaly but just wont got up. ive tested power from the plug and theres power from both wires when then switch is pressed. is there independent relays for each window?

Without the motor in the door, does the glass move up freely and does the glass go down easily.
