Im having the same problem with the drivers side window, iv never got it to work.
Took door apart again today and all i get is a clicking from the main relay on the door. Does this point to the motor being shafted or the relay?

I have not taken the motor out, but is there away to test it? it looks like just two wires to it, but im guessing they not just + and - so i have not messed with them........YET!

the relay you can hear is the auto one for the drivers door only and they fail, but test the motor, as you say two wires + - one way round = down the other = up, Rick

I had a problem with the drivers door window on my SWB, but in this case it would not return i.e. it opened ok but would not close again, just a click from, I presume, the relay.
Suspecting said relay I removed the door card to check that all seemed ok mechanically before taking the mechanism out, which it did. However, I put my hand under the bottom of the window and gave it a wiggle whilst operating the switch - there was a clunk and the window closed. The window seemed to be located in the track each side ok, and it was fine for a week or so, then did it again, and I sorted it the same way. It has now done it 4 or 5 times, but I can see nothing wrong, when working the window closes smoothly and easily with no noises - any ideas anyone?
I am starting to think I may have to simply replace the whole mechanism, complete with the metal guide and it's nylon follower below the window, as it's the only thing I can think of that could be causing the problem
(I did find a small oblong piece of black plastic in the bottom of the door, about 10mm x 5mm that must have come from the mechanism, but I can't see from where)

Ahrrr, Just as i thought, but did not want to blow it up. Time to take the door apart for the 2nd time today. But on a possitive note, i have fixed the elecy mirrors while iv been at it. The switch had fallen apart inside, just had to re-build it, simple job though! Anyways, back to the door! lol

Solarman, Your a Star!

Although it did not work by using the + and - i 1st time, got that mad with it i stripped it down to take it off, couldent get it out, so put it back together, tried the + and - once more and it worked. Yippy :clap

Electric Windows

Hello Mes Ami's

Back again with a serious issue

DRIVERS window doesn't UP or DOWN

OK, checked it out, switched the panel for a friends, didn't work - so decided to analyse and play - sussed it too

Here we go

The drivers window has a door panel switch which is connected into the wiring loom, the wiring loom connection goes to an AMP ASSY P/W ECU, which then sends two wires to the Windows Regulator (the physical and electronic winding mechanism)

The AMP ASSY P/W ECU is faulty, replace it

Not ALL windows problems will be as this, however, with a little bit of 'Common Dog', a multi-meter, and without breaking any lugs, any fault should be within our grasp

I am ordering a new part or an ebay part and hopefully it will be up and running soon

I have my diagnostic diagrams any my analysis which I can share if any one wants

Watch for the next post
