Whistling wing Mirror

All,
May sound strange but my drivers wing mirror starts to whistle when i reach 35-40mph
has anyone else had this?
I suspect there is a gap between the front cover and the mirror surround that the air is hoing through.

I used to use some stuff called nor seal for jobs like this, it's a bit like draft excluder. If you remove the mirror & put some near the outer edge where it meets the door you should get rid of the problem:thumb2

OR
Turn up the stereo when in built up areas :thumbs

being serious for a minute, try jamming something between the mirror and door - bit of foam rubber or something, just to see if that sorts it and where you need to stick your sealant (politely of course!).

Sealant don't always work due to the flex in the mirror bases & can make taking the mirror off again a bit of a pain depending on the sealant used plus you might have to use a large beed which could seep out from the mirror base onto the paintwork:doh
