Looking at that picture again this morning and looking at the service manual, it looks to me like that could have had a repair on it at some point :nenau

I reckon it's had a hole in it at that Jubilee is holding something else in place that they hoped would stop the leak, is it going to be a case of replacing the whole length of pipe between the oil pump and gear?

Just cut the leaky section of pipe and replace with a section of rubber hose.Done it twice , common problem.

Don't quote me, I think it's 6mm , I just used some spare braided hose I had left lying around.

Make sure it is compatible with the oil, the last thing you want is the hose breaking up into pieces and jamming in the pump, or steering rack.

Brake hose might not be compatible, but fuel line might be :nenau:nenau

I had the same prob on my last T2 & sleeved over the alloy pipes with rubber pipe which was 9mmID easiest thing to do for you will be to use some off the rubber P/S pipe off the mav & just cut the alloy cooler pipe in 12 slide the rubber pipe on & push it together & hose clip both ends of the rubber pipe. I did this & never had the slightest leak again:thumb2 The T2 i've got now I think is going to go the same way so this will be my fix as it worked last time:D

For a quick repair take the rubber hoses off the cooler pipes and use the loop from the other end to by pass the cooler.:thumb2

Brought some pipe earlier from the car spares shop they only did 8mm and 10mm ID so I brought 1ft of each and some clamps for either end :thumbs

I'll use whatever fits snuggest

I'll hopefully sort that out next week, just need to find some junior hacksaw blades before I can cut the leaky section out

I didn't cut my pipe down I just pushed on the rubber hose a couple of inches past the leak and put a couple of clamps on.
Mine was quite near to the end of the Ali pipe which made it quite easy once I had softened the new rubber hose in a bowl of boiling water.

Not really got that option on mine as the split is right near the bottom where the bash guard is so I think I'll drain all the fluid, fix the leak, re-fill and slap a dash of molyslip in there, I brought a spare belt just in case but the one on there looks in very good nick :thumbs

Turns out the whine was due to low fluid which had all leaked over time, I've topped it back up for the time being but will be fixing the leak and renewing all the fluids next week and also adding some Molyslip :thumb2
