I'm thinking of replacing my BMW TD with a Terrano as my everyday car.

What are the pros/cons for/against opinions in the LWB vs SWB? I don't need the extra room that LWB gives (if I need more space I'll just use the Patrol) but is there a preference off road between the two?

I have seen a nice T reg SWB diesel T2 with 79k on the clock for £1,600, does that sound about right?

What became of the Salomon you were interested in?

I would go for the SWB if you don’t need the room, there is no point hauling around the extra weight of a LWB if your not going to use it.

Prise seems good; they haven’t half crashed in value lately, definitely a buyers market.

who was selling the nice blue one, i liked that if i had themoney i would have had it it was lwb. but good for wife car.

off road swb i recon

That was Rag - he flogged it, bought a Merc C Class and hasn't been on since

For offroad the SWB wins, most of the extra length is behind the rear wheels, theres less than 9" difference in wheelbase so its all additional overhang and as said above just the extra weight makes a difference on and off road.

Think thats a little over priced tbh I paid £2k for a 2001 if that helps - if you can find one at the right price a 3.0L has to be the thing to have.

I've got a SWB Bat21 & TBH it's about the same size as my dads Astra so fits in all parking spaces:thumb2 Rear leg room is about the same poss a bit more than the LWB, but the only down side if you can call it is the gap you have to climb through to get into the back but if it has side steps on it's much easier than with out them:augieOh yeah the shorties are more like hot hatches on the road:D

Ive the LWB 2.7 TDi.. great, but for just day to day and PLAYING id get a SWB. then play with that

from mk 3 t2 on swb get quite rare. as said few swb commercials knocking about, even
ex utilities and some with 3 litre.

presume trs's is a mk3 from grill, certainly think deleted by mk 4 perhaps other than vans.

also thinks mvs only went to mk2 and then were pretty rare in 3 door config.

hi

I have got two swb and for off road they will always be better. selling my mav if interested, look on for sale for details, send pic,s if required.
