I have a compact CB radio and am struggling to find a permanent location for it. It will fit easily into the storage space behind the gear levers but because of the antenna connection it sticks out too far, if I could find a 90 degree antenna connection this may help.

Where does everyone fit theirs? I dont want to fix it on top of the dash as it is too easily seen by those nice young men who like to re-cycle other peoples belongings into drug vouchers!

Don't know what style dash you've got but will it not go in the cubby in front of the gear levers - mine did in the old one, in the new one its not at as good an angle or as deep and I don't think it will, put the clip for mic into one of te blank switches abouve and everything was on hand and easy to reach and see.

next to the 8 track ......lol

in this day n age whats wrong with a mobile phone or walky talky

10 - 4

cost and range respectively

No self respecting reen laner would be without one - makes for a far more sociable day.

Having said that I've gone down the HAM radio route too now.

Mobile phones need complicated codes to access each other (phone number) cost money to talk and can only talk to one person at a time.

Walky talkies are essentially the same as a fitted CB radio but perhaps not as powerful, need batteries re-charging and when you put them down in the cab they invariably end up on the floor under your seat!

10-10 till we do it again good buddy

CB

i put mine in the roof just in front of the power sun roof switch.had to make a bracket but it was pretty simple once i got it sussed.will find the pics for you and post them.

we was lucky we got a load of ebay walky talkies type of thing not kids ones propper building site ones, found they were better for when out of the truck ... ie surveying ahead, going back for breakdowns etc... other groups on different routes we just phone or text, we normally know who's going where anyway

mine is temporary in rear cubby hole, plan has been to dash mount
not really thought of it as a theft issue, as dont think they go that well
in certain pubs as tomtoms! have toyed with velcoing mount so can
hide quick. was actually more concerned on impact of sun? on it if
there all time.

funny really for a reasonably big car the t2 does not have a big dash,
in our mk2 there is only 1 cup holder flanked by heated screen and
hazard switches...

maybe remodel ash try area. the cubby in front of gear sticks houses
may invertor perfectly.

Well i/ve got mine mounted along the driver side of the transmission tunel just in front of the lower part of the dash & have the mic cliped on the blank next to the ultrasonics switch

Got a spare cubby hole from breakers, mounted inside took wiring from power lead to invertor from battery.
