After seeing some threads here on fuel use (realistic or not), I'm quite curious: what's yours?

I'm running a 1997 SWB T2, 2.7 tdi, on standard size 235/75 R15 General Grabber AT2 tyres.
Use: mainly daily driver, once a week a 60 mile highway journey, but in rush hour. At least one full day per week in this season playing in the mud while out shooting, short distances and frequent stops.
In total I average
- 237 miles/week
- 11 liters per 100 km, that would be about 26 mpg I think.

I only get 23mpg but thats all short trips this time of year. believe that to be about right for my mav.

Right, I filled up to the brim with 60 litres of veggie, 8 litres of diesel and 4.5 litres of petrol and drove to cnc fabs place.

I did 139 miles and then filled up this much diesel.

If someone wants to work out the veggie mpg

I was getting 26 round town etc and 31 on a run, need to see if this has changed much since I put 33" tyres on yesterday.

Kind regards

Russell.

Normally get 26-29 around town & on the country roads (lot of 60mph A roads around here) on a run often get 32-33:thumb2

according to my trip computer .... I got 671 miles from my last tankfull ( 60 litres )

My old petrol Terrano, long since gone to the smelters in the sky, used to do a steady 19mpg. Around town, or on a run, it seemed to make no difference.

However over a muddy field to go shooting, there was no stopping it. Eventually the clutch went at the same time as the salt water got to the bodywork and it was all over. :(

hi same as sweety 26-29 around town 33 on a run with esso diesel of course :augie :thumbs

Don't know really:nenau
I fill up,it goes down,I fill up,it goes down etc,etc.
Probably average the low twenties and maybe 25 - 30 on a run.

Mine is bound to be bad, heavy bumpers, heavy winch, fat tyres ect ect  about as aerodynamic as a brick :lol

nothing to do with the way you might drive of course :augie:sly:lol

No it's not actually smarty Briggie, this reading was on the motorway on neat veggie between 50/60mph :doh it would go no faster :lol

It wouldn't go any faster:eek::eek::eek: used to get 27mpg from my old SWB & that was with AT's, roof rack with spotlights & I drove that one very hard often doing 80-90. Think it's time to leave the veg purely for cooking your chips in & run pure diesel for a couple of months to see what happens to your MPG because if it shoots up it might not work out cheaper for you to run veg long term taking into account of poss needing a new IP some time:augie

I doubt if I even do 150 miles a month in my Patrol at the moment as I cycle to work most of the time. Bad weather and towing duty result in higher miles. I have a fixed solid viscous fan at the moment too which probably doesn't help mpg. About 20mpg although she has been known to get 26/28 mpg on a run with a bloody great tintent on the back.:D

Im running 235 75 15 bf goodrich mud terrain mud tyres and i drive 55 mph and i get 35-40 mpg on all journeys but i dont go above 55 mph and i keep the revs down between gear changes thats on 100% diesel from bp

Hi jim my one is 1996 model non intercooler model i get the mpg because i drive like a granny lol. Cant afford to have a heavy right foot. If i use tesco fuel mpg more like 30 mpg on a good day.
