After taking the spare wheel off and thinking shit that wheel carrier is in bad shape I decided to take it off for a bit of tlc.
there is a wire sticking out of the back door that goes to nowhere inside the carrier. What does it do?
it looks like some kind of sensor but for what?
the carrier itself is very rusty and one of the bottom pins has been welded to the plate.
so I had to remove the rear door card to undo the last bolt.
on the plus side the door hasnt been affected by corrosion at all and is like new inside and out:clap
so now ive started to do a few jobs on it (it needs a name) Ive decided to leave finishing my unfinished kitchen and spend any spare cash and all my free time on my truck.

could even be a wire connected to the alarm ( aftermarket ) so alarm goes off if wheel is knicked :nenau

Have you got a pic of it? I remember someone else had this dilemma ages ago

I recently took my spare wheel carrier off, and there was no wire there until I fitted one for the new number plate lights.

Does it have any form of terminal on the end, or is it just a cut off wire?

Picture?

ok heres a pic of wire but not in situ
