whats this wire for?

the end bulb shaped thing looks like it could be a temp sensor, is there any numbers or righting in the end bit?

How many actual wires are there where it goes into that plug.

I really have no idea what it could be... any strange switches anywhere?

I will investigate more very soon as I dont want water getting in the grommet hole. yes rain is forecast!.
its a strange looking thing!and baffled by it.
i will take more pics of the actual mounted position tomoz.
