Nearside lamp fitted with pics on original post

I'm looking forward to seeing a pic of them finished and fitted :thumb2

I've posted picture of nearside lamp fitted with new LED main beam bulb, presently looking for a similar upgrade for the dip beam. The bulbs are not interchangeable due to different boss size to prevent wrong bulbs being used!

They are really bright - fan cooled but quoted wattage is nonsense 660 W - lost in translation from China I guess. Lumens also has an extra zero quoted as 72,000 !!

Truck is in the workshop with a long list of tin worm related problems, so I'm biting the bullet and looking at getting the whole lot done in one go and rust protected. Labour costs make me think I'm in the wrong job, my doctor charges less!!
Hopefully, once it's done the truck will have a new lease of life and be rust free for a good few years.
I was hoping for a smallish bill, then start looking for a Patrol. But this will make the Terrano a keeper.

That’s the way to look at it mate as an investment for future. You can enjoy the truck you know for a lot longer now mate. Also think about how much to buy a replacement vehicle as opposed to cost of repairs.
I think you’re on to a winner mate :thumbs

The way I see it is that a replacement Terrano is stepping into the unknown. This truck has given a good few years of service.
I know what the next truck is going to be, well, one of two options. :) But there's one or two other things that need attention before that.

Newer vehicles are less appealing to me because of all the electronics and other complications, I've had my footbwells totally flooded, water in the electrics, and all I needed to do was turn engine off and start it again and all was fine! I've driven it into a river and filled the cylinders with Welsh water and with some help from friends and 30 mins she was better than new. I got stuck in water once, engine totally submerged for nearly ten mins, no problemo. She's been driven places she should not have been driven and come through working perfectly, she could do with a bit of paint though :lol

You just cannot treat the new generation like that, they break down and leave you stranded!!

I’ve just been out in the Maverick and it really is a pleasure to drive, was out with my wife driving my old project truck and it too drives so well. I reckon anything other than a Terrano or Patrol is a step backwards. Pretty confident with the Mav that a little TLC every now and then and I’ll get it over the 30 year old mark. The terrano being honest may not make it that far but he’ll Im going to give it a good go.
I went to see an ex member Clivvy today and he’s got his Terrano on eBay at the moment as it needs a lot of welding doing which unfortunately he doesn’t have the kit so it’s up for £300 so far as a spares or repair. He’s driven it up and down his drive and he still loves the way it drives. Pity my drives full or I think I would of liked to give it a go.

Looking back at the vidence, it might have been my fault you nearly totalled the car that day!!! Even Fez is telling me off in the background because you haven't got a snorkel :lol :lol :lol

T Doug is the last one through and had some bottle!!!!!!!!!
Good Lad

Nah, I take responsibility for my driving, daft or otherwise, I tell others too, if anyone wants me to lead a group etc. I make sure they know their driving is their responsibility. No problem with recovering them or owt just don't moan at me if you break your truck, and I don't expect people to drive owt they are comfortable driving, they will be mercilessly teased afterwards though :D

We learned a bit more that day :thumb2 and the "temp fix" you guys did on the power steering pipe is still there, going strong :D:D:D, was a bloody good trip that was :bow

Many more to come hopefully

Hoping to do a reasonable strip down again this year. The rust mites have been feasting away on the Patrol and some rebuilding is required.

It has been on the cards since last year but I haven’t had time. This year we have new windows fitted to the house and a new conservatory build so not much more money to do other things. Hence why it will be the perfect time to spend some time on the Patrol. A bit of mild steel sheet, welding wire and Argon mix aren’t that expensive. Quite looking forward to getting stuck in.
