i got a switch down to the righ of the streering wheel

trolheaterswitch.jpg

when i turn it on the rpm goes up about 250 and when i dip the clutch it still runs 250 over until i put the bus in gear then it drops back to 800 rpm

does anybody know what it heats?

cheers martin

the engine, to give you heat, sav you trying to balance throttle.

neat trick that slip in gear and revs drop to idle.

i used it to keep heat coming into car when stood around in snow
last month, saved the concentration of trying to get revs up but to
high.

The switch just increases engine revs on tickover, so it'll warm up faster if you are doing a lot of stop/start.

My Dads got one on his Pathfinder as well, he wont use because he says it uses more fuel, he dont mind being cold for an extra 5 minutes, just as long as he's not wasting fuel.

He wont put a radiator in his shower room, his explination! if you going to the Loo you wont be in there very long and if your having a shower the water will keep you warm. :lol

You just know its not woth arguing, even though he is 72 :doh

Does he wonder why there is always condensation in there and black mould on the walls, windows and condensation dripping off the loo :nenau

Unless he keeps the window open.

Handbook says the switch is there to speed up heater operation.

I always use mine when its cold as higher rpm = higher oil pressure and most diesels sound like a bag of hammers when cold at idle:lol
