I have now spent a considerable amount of time on this but not quite got there with it, as yet. Had a bit of inaccurate info fed me early on which contributed to much of the failures but I am still working on rewriting the immobiliser chip from the ECU. Have invested in an EEPROM programmer and a hot air station, both cheap Chinese stuff, which I had been blaming for the issues until I discovered the original chip type was not as I had been informed. Second ECU failed but I think it was too much of a mismatch being from a different year. Reverted back to original after gaining more practice with the soldering but as yet still won't fire. New error codes 86 and 91 but these may have come from the second ECU. However I am concerned that I cannot clear them.

Think it would have been quicker and easier to take it to Nissan or any other shop that can read your ECU, when I had this issue years back (caused by trying to start with a bad key 3 times in a row) and was locked out it simply cost me £30 or £40 for a mobile car locksmith and took him about 20 mins to sort it, Rick

Unfortunately not a single one of the mobile car locksmiths I spoke to still had the licence to use Nissan Consult to be able to reset and I spent days phoning round.

Interesting I was not aware that they needed a licence, if they have to renew every year then with the demise of the T2 it clearly would not be worth keeping it going, Rick

This is the situation as it has been explained to me by those pro porting to be vehicle electrical engineers. I am currently waiting for Nissan to get back to me, as despite all my efforts rewriting chips it seems that without Consult the lock code stays in place. So yes, basically back where I started.

Just how difficult would it be to fix this manually, that is by removing/replacing the fuel cut-off?

Unfortunately it is not as simple as that, you can certainly power up the fuel shut off solenoid, but it is the ECU that has control of the throttle, so you are still going nowhere, I have not had a chance to look at the vid posted by Elty yet but will do later this evening, Rick

All I can say is watched the vid and am not convinced, Rick

So despite now being pretty certain that the chip has been decided and replaced successfully the car still won't start. The sound being exactly the same spinning over with no fuel.

I have again checked the read out and error code 1402 is still there. Hence my conclusion that getting the error code, which designates the all key lock-out, removed is the issue.

Therefore I have spent the morning speaking on the phone with Nissan and their service centres to pay the no doubt shockingly high cost and have them do the job.

Bottom line - they can't!
No longer supported!!!

I am in utter disbelief as I now appear to be looking at scrapping a perfectly good car with only 75k on the clock!

I had already viewed the video but I am not sure that it is a NATS 2 system. However I will continue to pull boxes out from under the dash to see if anything matches.

However without removing that code I doubt if it is that easy, else it would start after disconnecting the battery, wouldn't it?

I find it incredible that Nissan cannot sort your motor, to my mind you have 2 options, 1 my favourite, fit a mechanical pump, 2 find a locksmith in the UK to program it up, I will ring the guy I used a while ago and see if he still has the kit, Rick

My guy no longer has the kit, apparently it was part of a key cutting machine and when the key cut part broke he did not bother to keep it, but he says he knows another that still has one, am waiting for him to get back to me, so need to know where you are , as clearly locksmith and car need to meet, Rick

Spoke to local Nissan place today, they suggested contacting Nissan Customer Service on 03301231231, also I have details of how to disable NATS1 might be worth trying it on 2, got nothing to lose, if you want to try PM me Rick

Been doing some more searching, I guess you have found the ECU, can you remove the lid and send me a pic of the internals, been chatting to some old banger mates and they have given me some tips, we had to disable NATS with bangers but I never dealt with any other than NATS1 but they are doing it with other NATS versions now, Rick

Sorry for slow response, my mother has been in hospital so things have been difficult, plus being evicted from my business units hasn't helped.Thank you so much however for the hours of research you have put in on my behalf.

Attached, I hope is a photo of the back of the ECU board

And here the screw driver points to the gap where, on this board the chip has been desoldered so as to rewrite the code.

Great pics but i need the component side of the board, there should be 3 or 4 auxiliary boards standing up from the main board, Rick
