Fed up with having only 6 cd's in the changer and can't be bothered to mess about and change the head unit so thought this little unit would connect straight up to the old head unit .I could put either a USB stick in it or a SD card.........get quite a few songs on then.
I don't know how the songs would be organised for them to play using it on my original head unit ??

Anyone fitted one like it to their Terrano or other Nissan

Dave:)

Depending on what factory head unit you have (post a pic?) frankly I wouldn't bother - for that money you can put a Blaupunkt head unit in with MP3/USB capability. You will probably have almost as much fannying about to install that as if you took the stereo out, unless it simply plugs in place of the CD changer?

I've only used USB with a replacement head unit and unless you want to piddle around on the move going from one directory to another (each CD saves as a new directory folder), the simplest way is to copy all your music files to ONE directory then set the head unit to play 'random' :thumbs

I have the large head unit with the hazard switch built in.I was looking at a blanking plate on e bay I could use so I could fit the standard head unit, but I would still have to mess about with sorting the hazard switch then buy a head unit as well.

That was the other thing I was wondering about as it would sit neatly under the seat too.......but I don't know what end the lead has ??

its a good point, its not clear from the auction exactly where it connects.....and you are right, the inbuilt hazard switch is a bit of a PITA but then it does give you options if you replace it.

But if you have steering wheel controls (I'm guessing you have a MkII/IV?) then its worth hanging on to the OEM head unit.

I bought a cheap stereo from lidl that plays USB & SD cards.

I love the SD card slot the best, It works a treat. You can skip to each folder or skip each track. Best of all the physical size of them are tiny and always comming down in price.

you can get a 8gb for like £8. I can't see myself using anything else for 5yrs +

A cd holds about 700mb burnt as a mp3 cd, a 8gb one is over 10x bigger!
