So what did you pass your test in and what have you owned or driven
regularly since.
My first car which I bought to pass my test in after my mum bought auto
Maestro was a ford escort mk2 estate on an ex miitary y reg despite being
a '76. Mum also had a w reg escort estate mk 2 which I drove on
provisional until the Maestro was purchased.
Then after passing traded my rot box for 1.3 escort mk ghia 4 door.
Mum then upgraded to a newer Maestro auto, so traded in my ghia
and cascaded the first maestro to me. yep 19 yr old student with
a 4yr old maestro, pals must have thought i was well off, yep in debt
buying it off mum!
then got my rangey at 21, though was off road with rotten chassis
more than it was on but it was mine, all mine, and gave lease/purchase
back to mum who traded the older maestro for a vw transporter mk4
camper. With rangey off road in repair the camper became my prefered
vehicle and kept me trucking.
left home and married, mrs had a fiat 127, the rangie sold for scrap
though saw it few years later on road.
we bought a sierra 2.0 gl, which was rotten so it gained a much
newer shell with running gear transferred to then be scraped after
a coming to gether with a tram! during this period i drove the 127
more than mrs, which suited me as got her into bigger cars and
away from the attitude of i cant drive this only happy with say a
fiesta learnt in....the 127 went for scrap/banger racing!
our 3rd sierra 1.8lx served us about 3 years then a daewoo nubira
aquired as higher kerb to tow a bigger caravan. 4 yrs sterling service
sold to a work mate as got more than as a trade in against the t2.
t2 still with us 4 yrs later and another 37k on clock. no finance on
it and stll best truck for the money ploughed its replacement cash
into the caravan.
