I have just replaced my inlet manifold and now there is water coming from the back
of the engine as i cant see much is there a coreplug in the block at the back.
Mav 2.7td gls 98 any ideas

Theres a plate underneath the manifold that hides some kind of oil cooling gubbins or somesuch thing - can't remember what it is exactly but the coolant circulates there....Extreme will know as he had to replace the cracked cover when he put my old auto back on the road cos it was pi55ing water after freezing up....although I think it had been leaking slightly for a while.

It was a BITCH to remove though.....he'll tell you more.
 
HeHe I suffered a water leak similar to yours. Had starter changed and it turned out to be a bolt had been missed out when the guy put it back together. Follow the dipstick tube down and you'll see a bracket that hold the tube to the block. This bracket is held to the block with a bolt which is an upper oil cooler bolt. Top edge of oil cooler seems to be on the joint between the block and head.

Also look at this picture of the head and see the core plugs at the side and slightly below the inlet ports.
