Looks like my water pump has sprung a leak, I will take a closer look tomorrow but in the meantime does anyone know the cheapest place for a replacement? So far my cheapest is around £70 inc p+p off E-Bay.

Vehicle details below in Sig

Sounds like a good price to me.
I paid about £90.00 inc p+p 9 months ago on ebay from 'autojapspares'
They were very helpful and went backwards and forwards to the stores taking measurements off the pump for me. And the pump arrived within 24 hours
Make sure the one you are looking at is the same size as the one thats on your motor as they can vary.
If youve got any worries about doing the swap check out the workshop download - it is helpful

Got mine from motor factor

£63.95inc Vat

QH Part No QCP 3473 Equiv MCP 3473

Mines is TDI engine so don't see why yours should cost more 8O

MIGHT NOT BE CORRECT PART :?:

Check your and Model :!:

what I'm saying is that I don't know if the water pump on the 2.7TD engine is the same as the 2.7TDI engine.

I wouldn't go near Nissan with a barge pole for a water pump. I got quoted £200. Got QH pump which is decent quality pump.

Any decent autoshop (motor factor) should be able to get you one at a third of the cost that nissan will charge.

I am off to work in 30 seconds I'll get part No tomorrow hang in there

While you are changing the pump check your fan blades for cracks at the base of the blades

Well the only No on the casting is 090906 hope that helps you knotting pot  If your local nissan dealer is as good as mine ask them what the part No's are for both vehicles if he won't do it try phoning 01223 377 300 ask for Mark or keith they are both very helpful guys and DON'T forget tell them you belong to the club, I had a right result when the other day I bought a 3 peice clutch kit I got 30% discount -mex- -dance- I am as happy as a pig in a sty.

Needed to use the Mav over the weekend so I coud not wait. Car part shop at the end of my street had one delivered to their shop within 4 hrs for £85. Fitted it topped up with water/antifreeze mix and ran the engine, after about 60 secs the pump started squealing so I switched off tried to bleed the system a little bit, kept an eye on the water level. Did this for a few times even took out the t/stat to allow full circulation but the pump kept squealing. In the end I gave up as it was now dark. Any ideas?

P.s. thanks for all the kind offers.

is it deffinatly pump a;lternator or something hasnt seized making belt squel or is it correct pump?

Have a look to see if they are sitting square on the water pump pulley.
Remember there are 2 different types of pumps and it is to do with the position of the water pump pulley lining up to the bottom main drive pulley.

One water pump sticks out further than the other. (matter of about 5mm)
Have a look in the workshop downloads and it shows how to measure your pumps if you still have the old one check it against the new one.

The other possibility is the power steering pump, alternator unit or belts slipping, so check those.

Even replace the belts.

Thanks all, changed the belts and that seems to have cured it....
