I've been putting this off for too long, I now need to replace my water pump. Before I buy one, can anyone recommend a good supplier. I've had local prices fron £112+vat to £50+vat. Are there any makes to avoid ? I'd rather pay a bit extra, fit it and forget it.

Hello Tezzer,

how long have you had the pump fitted for ? It's difficult to know which one to buy, as prices vary so much.

hi lee, water pump has been on for 5 months and not a problem, they are good pumps and a doddle to change, i would definately buy from them again, order by 3 pm and next day delivery iirc, mine was here at 9.30 next morning, :thumbs

Finally got around to replaceing the water pump last week. Spent a couple of miserable cold, dark, wet evenings getting the job done before a laning day on Saturday. Found it simpler to remove the radiator, as access was easier. I bought the expensive one from our local Factors, Kevin Coopers, as I was worried about potential reliability issues, with us now taking the truck to France this year. I'm still getting a tiny "weep" when cold, on initial start-up. I'm not sur if I need to refit it with a greater amount of Loctite, or the weep is coming from above the pump ? Any ideas ?

If you are still getting a leak check to see if the bolts have been torqued correctly, then check your radiator hoses, heater hoses where they come out of the thermostat, and don't forget to check around the thermostat housing gasket just in case.

I don't know about Loctite but a gasket sealer/adhesive might be better.
