does anyone know what the signs of water pumop need replaciing are , the reason i ask is i seem to have noticed some water on the floor under the car i looked under the bonnet and the coolant levels dont seem to have dropped nothing else is leajking washer or any other fluid but when i look under there seems to be a small dripping from under the crankshaft pulley cant tell if it coming from the pump as the pump is higher up but from the topp it seems dry any ideas should the car be overheating? as it is not :nenau

pump

if its rad coolant you will taste it if you stick your pinkey in it and lick it!!!

I'm convinced by your description of the pool that it's the Water Pump. What ever you do don't try tasting the fluid, better to smell it instead. Check out the quick links section as there is a workshop for replacing the water pump.

I had exactly the same symptoms.Started noticing a wet patch under the front of the car but no water loss.My mechanic mate replaced it and no further leaks. Can't remember exact amount but total job was less than £200.Bought the pump from local motor factor, about same price as Milners.

it could be from the air con condensor pipe ( if you have air con :naughty )

Aircon drips from mine are or were when it worked just behind the nsf wheel.

Also don't for get that this condensation will feel and smell different to coolant.
