oh yes he's out he came here after.... ill let him tell you about the recovery...

shortly after pete left here today i had my first go as passenger in howards landy...... and i got to say he is mental with a capital F
and his landrover is well worth the 12k + that he's spent on it

i think i left some finger nails in his dash

i suggested we refer to his landy in future as "ex lax".....

cos one go and you shit

absolutelly awsome.... even better when your in it, having the fun

i think anyone who doubts landies should go out with howard for an hour:eek:

i tried for ages clinging to the door and seat (trying to look relaxed) until i gave in and fell into the grab rail on the dash .... once i braced myself in with that . howard stopped and said do you think we will get over that 4ft x 4 ft x 8ft boulder....... i didnt have time to say no , i was star gazing then the ground then the front again as we sped off ap this track into the darkness

Pics for Zippy only!

Right here goes, as you're all aware by now I got abit stuck yesterday:augie
So after leaving my mav to keep the frogspawn company, we went to recover it this afternoon.
My mate Stuart and thunderbird2 to the rescue:cool:
His landi s running 35" muds and has a monster lift on it. Also a spanking winch by Husky I think. Anyway it's got gears and everything:nenau
So once I remembered where it was(little yellow tags on the trees everywhere doh) WE WALKED IT FOR A BUTCHERS:clap
Stuart drove down behind it pulled out the winch line, wrapped it round the tow bar and switched it on:D
By the time I'd got the door closed I was out:clap
I picked up extremes waffle boards and reversed upto thunderbird2 with great anticlimax:rolleyes:
Amazing what a bit of winch can do,must get one:cool:
So a few pics to show you and it really was more stuck tan it looks:sly

It's a bit like the tardis in there, enough kit for Paris Dakar I think:cool:

Blimey that looks worse than walking the route:D
Got my eye on a few 12,000 lb winches (electric:thumbs) at less money:naughty
Hope to get paid up next few days, so may go shopping:cool:

great pics, thanks.

glad it want me stuck that well!!

Hi Geoff, thanks for the thought but I've been looking more carefully and can get 12,000 lb elec winch new for £220 :sly
There's also quite a few Warn ones on the bay about that s/h:thumbs
Just been chating to a guy who will make up a winch mount for the mav/t2 for £150. It will keep most of the bumper too.
OR a complete winch bumper for about £225 tbc.
:slyThe good bit is once made we can then supply jigged ones to club members:sly
Cheers
