OK, I'm struggling with a cracked rib after Colin pushed me through the ceiling Sunday so I've been laid around feeling pathetic.....I looked at a few of the routes Nat suggested last night and they aren't that long I don't think (TW likes it macho!) but theres a couple of possibilities.

As Dadba isn't here til teatime, we can make Sunday the full day, doing Strata and so on, so we need to decide a couple of things:

1. Are we still camping Sat night or is it wise to wait on a weather check? Its not looking great at the moment.

2. If we don't camp, then me and the redhead will go to the Oak in Rhandirmwyn and have a pint and some scoff with Dadba since its only up the road, and we can collect him en route Sunday morning, taking the mountain road to Llanddewi Brefi and on to Strata. So its up to you if we don't camp. whether you come to mine Sunday morning or meet us at Strata.
Colins got chip fat now so the worlds his oyster! Mileage means squat!

3. That leaves Saturday - I suggest we could congregate at Colins maybe, and start off with looking at a few routes on the mapping (I can do screen caps of the Trailwise bit) and doing Sarn...some of it might just be exploration - theres a route somewhere that might be within reach if we camp that says 'probably impassable'.....Pere are you reading this?

So Saturday would be play it by ear, Sunday is Strata and related....any other ideas?

And of course, since theres only 2-3 of us Saturday and the weather is looking crappy, we could can saturday altogether and do the hi-de-hi thing a bit later in the year when the rivers unfrozen

Then a fresh start Sunday (10-ish?) would see us with a decently full day - theres another route Nathan was on about that ends near the north end of Strata that I haven't examined on the map yet...

Really for dadba's benefit, the backroad route we'll take from Rhandirmwyn over the 'mountains' to LLanddewi Brefi....lets hope I'm not the only one in the village this time! About 18 miles and great scenery. Its a few miles further north to Strata and the lake at r/h side is Llyne Briane which we'll skirt on the way back...

BTW theres a couple of good lanes over Ffarmers but they aren't what you'd call non damaging

Weather looking better for the weekend, showers saturday but sun on Sunday, so should be good.

I might have to skip Saturday driving because I've got to fix Dorne's truck (cooling system leaking bigtime, suspect bottom hose or rad but need to get skid plate off to check), but let me know if you're coming here to camp or what so I can get the giant new pig that Dorne has bought out of the way LOL!! And Strata is Sunday yes?

Whatever happens, lets not forget Dadba is coming a long way, so apart from at least me going to the pub Sat evening, we need to make a timely start on SUnday morning....I'm suggesting as before, 10am at Rhandirmwyn...

So need to know:

1. Arrangements for Saturday.
2. Arrangements for Saturday night.
3. Confirmation of start time Sunday.

Wish I'd booked Friday night down there now too.
Ive just got up after finishing work at 04.30.
Feel like Im ready for action now but the 'great one' is out having lunch and shopping, so Ive no chance of getting off today.
May set off earlier than planned tomorrow tho.

Pete, as mentioned, I've got to try and fix the water leak on Dornes truck so might not make it...are you camping out Sat night? Here? Just let me know and I'll cut the grass for you and sort firewood for our evening beer consumption!

im still fixing the truck up ready... extended the bump stops on the front as terra suggested. i just got to make something for the back.

im good for sat sometime even if its just a meet near where dadba is staying we could always have a social evening

oh and i thought we could have a sort of competition this time. something like who's got the best / biggest wheels, prize could be a drink or two from the rest of us

Well lookie here lads, just turn up here whenever you like. I assume you've got tents etc.. I have given dadba my address in case he gets here earlier as he might.....but if you arrive mid/late afternoon that gives us time to look at a few other routes for Sunday online and then nip up to the Oak to have a bite to eat and a beer with him before coming back here for a little bonfire....although you can always camp up in the forest if you're feeling hard!
