i got a pm from extreme telling me hed recieved a complaint of a certain member and he was going to keep his eye on me so i made myself aware of who extreme was and what he was about by reading previous posts,i have no need to do such with plank as he and i have been sparring partners from yrs back and new full well what he said to pond was the whisky talking and that plank would never go smashin doors in,i blame pond more for taking it to heart an bein soppy.
no dirty washing means you will only know as much about me as iam prepared to tell,i do count myself lucky me and th mrs are good together and few arguments,no debts cash flow good,the daughters are to young (at the momment) to have boyfreind isues and lifes rosie jobs a good un lol

been giving YOUR moderator problem loads of thought, which is more than likely more than you have.

anyway before you con some other poor fuc ker into this moderator thing. where they sit here and watch your site for you. and try to keep it on track. while you sit back and just cash the membership money

also noting your observations in your polite post too jace this evening , you as well as lots of others commented on how well the forum was doing since you took over . well you own it and make the rules , so a big pat on the back for you. but it was the poor bastards on the ground me tt2 adz who was the ones who actually did the hard work getting it to the nice place it was . cos no one ever hears or sees you .

anyway as you are aware i repeatedly asked for your support over the last couple of weeks , to sort out big problems the mod team were dealing with, and you did nothing to support us .

my suggestion is yeah find some mugs who will sit here every evening for you ... but let them keep there own membership and a separate log in as moderator 1 and moderator 2 etc .
if you wish to run your site as a free for all and let a few upset people.
these victims then go to moderators to sort it out and when the moderators try quite fairly i thought . the mods just get told to f off. we can do what we like. and you know what they can . because you dont back your mod team .

you even allow your mod team and there families to get verbally attacked while they are trying to make your site run smoothly .

you must if you wish to continue with this free for all , make your moderators anonymous.

extreme thats a good idea having two ids if your a mod no one can atack u for deleting/moving/splitting doin your job etc or throw stuff in your face,could be a pain loggin in an out? im falling back on my no i.t skills line again and bow to greater knowledge!

I actually think the modes and that included Colin did a good job. I have no idea what went on behind the scenes and cant comment.

i think we all have very differant opinions on the mods and thier roles it can be an easy job or a very stressfull one depending on the topic!

i also agree with you all that this is a great site and in the time ive been on here ive met some very lovely people and for that iam very gratefull! :kissy

regarding problems tho ive found some things do have to go on the veiw of the forum as although you can send a pm you cant force the other party to reply to it so due to frustration it gets put on full veiw then the fireworks start!

TTT said it right when he told us that modding was generally about moving stuff to the right thread etc..

I haven't seen any evidence of proper modding on this site if I'm honest. Its either been the odd "calm down, calm down" or people removing their own posts in an incorrect way (i.e. surreptitiously). Even when Bat came on and read the riot act, I was a bit surprised to see he left the thread in situ

Its so bloody simply; if I had been doing it (and I wouldn't thanks, the wages aren't good enough :lol), I would have locked/deleted several threads in the last couple of weeks...leaving them running isn't smart and just lets things fester.

And if a potentially offensive/aggressive/problematic post is made, its content should be removed and a note inserted to that effect by the Mod or Admin. If it pi55es the poster off, so what.

I've also suggested to Bat that having the Pub Thread as the only publicly visible thread to non-members probably isn't the best idea, but thats his call.

Having a general forum like this is fine, and frankly I don't care how heated the debate gets, but we have to remember that some people take offence, non-members will be thinking "f*ck me what are this lot on??", and leaving potentially inflammatory stuff up just stokes the fire every time someone logs in and fancies having a pop - its all there to read and re-read and get more wound up.

In a real pub someone would just say STFU and the conversation would move on :thumb2 Post deletion if deemed appropriate is the internet equivalent.:thumb2:thumb2
