Did a bit more carpeting in the sunshine :D Not the best plan as the glue dries way too quick

Here you can just see the quick release things I got so the pod can be taken in and out without tools :thumb2 They're little chrome clip things meant for fitting spoilers and the like to track cars

Close up. Sorry about the extra holes but I made a mistake :doh Nevermind a hinge will cover up :augie

BOOM sub update ;)

Look what came in the post from uncle eBay :D

Vibe 8" active sub in a box thing , £ 50 ker ching :thumbs I shall diss-assemble this and makeitfit my center console
Innards exposed and cut free.

A quick spin round with Mr Router and one hole for the speaker .

Innards transposed to the center console .

Loads of room :D Just need to avoid spillages now :augie

If it becomes an issue being exposed like that I'll probably fit a speaker grill from Maplins or something
Battery no2 on the way next :whip:

I got the 2nd battery in today and just used a tie down strap to secure it :)

Smart split charger thingy

I'm using an Anderson plug to take power to the pod and also allows other accessories like tyre pump to be plugged in.

Got a nice fuse holder with LED indicators for each working fuse . Wired it up to the Anderson plug via a mini loom . Also fitted my old inverter for those mains needs :nenau

The sub in place and the axillary 12v outlet powered up with a little blue LED ;)

Modified the dash to take the sub remote and also fitted a little push button to isolated the sub amp from firing up when not needed.

Should be ready for winter camping :lol

The wiring to the sub amp looks rather thin TBH you should really be using 8 AWG min I would keep an eye on how hot the amp gets as there isn't really any cooling for the heatsink

Yeh I wondered about the cooling. As yet I've not bolted down the lid as I stick my hand in every now and then for a quick feel :lol So far it can best be described as warm. :nenau
I knew you'd mention cable size :augie However in my innocence I've used a bigger supply cable than the wires the other side of the connector inside the sub :thumbs
The supply cable is also all of 60 cm long . Do think that's really an issue ?
Easy to change mind but do I really need to ? It's only a 900w peak thingy or 300w RMS
I kept the amp the right way up this time though :thumbs

liking this so far, looks like its gonna be awesome once finished
