perhaps cheap nasty fuel ?

I reckon so.Its always a little but not much cheaper around here but my experiences with it tell a straightforward tale .

Use Asda diesel , car runs crap. Use shell garage, Tescos or Morrisons , no problems at all.

Ive repeated the experiment several times and the results are the same every time. The only way it starts running better on the Asda crap is by chucking some millers cetane booster in then it runs ok.

fortunately for you lot not a problem :thumb2

I have an Azde credit card, got it about 2 years ago as an offer, have a card and get 2p off the price of fuel at their pumps. Ace works for me.

Pah, stick some blinkin' bio in it :sly I get 54p cash back each litre :naughty

matter of opinion with the waste cooking oil, ive used it for approx 4 years now. how much is your vehicle worth? mines a 1996 maverick so prob about £1200. i have saved alot more than this! so if it blew up tomorrow not the end of the world.( it still runs spot on). BUT you must filter the hell out of it! also thin it down with 10% petrol and 20% burning oil (i dont do that because its illegal) change filter every 2000 just to be safe, bit of redex or similar doesnt go amiss now and then. sounds a nasty soup but works for me! it helps if you can beg the oil from a local pub etc

Silly question

Hi Guys,

So Oil is working on the car, which is great with small different variant of opinion.

My question is :

If we can use Cooking OIL, or SVO why can we not use other type of OIL such as OIL you use for transmission, engine etc.....

I also read about acetone to be added to the diesel.

Well properly filtered and sufficiently diluted with diesel they will work with a forgiving engine...can't imagine what old engine oil would do for your emissions though LOL

I've been sticking 300ml of acetone in my tank with a refill for years now....it does make it run slightly better theres no doubt, but not to be spilt on your paintwork :thumb2
