will using veg oil affect exhaust emissions at the MOT test?

I ask as I took the plunge and added a few litres to mine today and the test is due in just over a week. So if it is going to be an issue i wont add any more!

nope, mine passed MOT running 100% veggie..

the examinor did complane though... made him hungry!

From what I have heard it's generally better... so you probably don't need to worry.

vegy

I used to be on a Mitsubishi forum (sorry for swearing), two blokes took their cars for test to the same place at the same, time both using vegy, both past with almost 0 emissions. The tester reported to his boss "we need some one out to sort out emissions test machine its ******" oh little did he no.

illy

i liked the look of the ones your were experimenting with, keep trying!

Hi all, i have seen and heard a little about running on veg oil......can anyone shed any light on it please?

I am a total beginner with the subject, but if there is money to be saved i would be interested to find out more, what does it entail etc?

Thing is starting from sold is the same?
A small price to pay for big savings:thumbs
Just make sure your glow plugs are good and a few seconds after start all will be well:D
OR do as Zippy does and run a mix in the winter:rolleyes:

Okay so is anybody gunna shed any light on the subject.

Can i simply go out buy some veg oil and mix it with my diesel and the motor will run as normal?

Aye but I was thinking if the main trouble with veg oil is starting, And just after. Then once engine starts to warm up a heater isn't needed?

so whats the heater for and is it necessary?

So if i went to my local super market, bought a 20 ltr drum of veg oil would i need to do anything else?
