so whats the heater for and is it necessary?

So if i went to my local super market, bought a 20 ltr drum of veg oil would i need to do anything else?

the heater is mainly if you just run on straight veg oil and nothing else, as veg oil is thicker than diesel unless you warm it up, if you mix it with diesel you should have no probs, best person to talk to about it is zippy

if i remember corectly, there were some worries on using veg oil if you have a Zexel pump, if you have a bosch it's ok.

but there are loads of thread on this if you do a search. :thumb2

Probably best to do a search on here as it's been discussed in great detail:thumbs
Once you've had a read, all should be clear.............ish:rolleyes:

dont use veg oil on without a heater or mixing with diesel in the winter or you will end up standing over your engine bay with your wife and daughters hairdryer on the injectors fuel line and fuel pump (not that i've done this of course :augie)

cheers, i have only added 6 litres on top of 1/4 of a tank of diesel, and wont do any more unitl i've tried that mix out. I wouldn't go more than half until the weather pics up a bit.

Well why dont you stick bio in it then? That'll run at -15 easily with NO mods:thumbs Simples:cool:

i'd rather do SVO, i'm not a convinced by bio, too many ??? hanging over the prodiction process for me :nenau

Okay another question....there is a company near to me selling biodeisel at about 90p per litre, can i just add this to my current fuel without any problems?
