I agree completely with what your saying but surely svo going past the seals  its the same stuff as you put in your stomach I cant see it have anything nasty in it :nenau
i recon its probably the extra strain on the rubber bits pushing the thicker oil through

so running 50/50 would be better, aslo maybe having an oil heater?

yes but then only half the saving. so you fall into the "is it worth the bother" problem
but heater would help im told Peugeot use heaters on all there diesels anyway so if thats right , they are easy to get hold of

just filled mine up with tesco free fuel and if anything its running better , but at those prices you can push the loud pedal more , so hardly going to be the same motor :bow

off out to re stock now :D

I reckon your right but if youre using a heater or its a nice warm day i dont think itll make a lot of difference.

One of the things I noticed and was impressed with the T2 engine was its complete lack of drips and dribbles other than when the injector hose split.

I can only presume from that lack that it wasnt forcing any leaks :nenau dont know for sure though :D

Plank Running mine all winter on full bio, only problem is finding good suppliers local.

Oh so only £20 every time you fill up then? Bung it my way eh?

And yep, most Pug diesels have a heated filter assembly to address fuel problems on early models......just depends if there is one thats comparable in size to the Terranos....

wow bought 24 Pure Vegetable Oil 3 Litre bottles for £30.36, when i got home relised the tesco lady mucked up because i went to the counter with just 4 boxes so she went off and got a bottle and scanned it saving opening a box, when i opened the boxes i notice she scanned the £2.53 price instead of the £2.95 Pure Sunflower Oil i had:D.

i just thought sod it if it does not work so what so i went in with both feet and from my jeep being in the red to topping it full up and i put in about 20 bottles to fill it costing about £25 to fill :clap, i let it tick over and notice some puffs of smoke for about 5 mins and then the distinct deep fat fryer smell lol then no more smoke so it must have been the last little bit of the diesel and oil mix that done the smoke, happy bunny and like others will be stocking up while the deal lasts.:D

Hi got 30 ltrs tescos veg oil for £12.00 ish have put it all in the tank and no difference in perfermance am going to buy some more tomorrow.
engine is 3.0 Di o3 plate

Is the 3 litre a common rail and the 2.7 isnt?

My understanding is that common rails (if I recall this correctly) cannot take svo, i seem to recall its something to do with the fuel pressure for the slightly thicker liquid being lower and therefore the last pot gets starved.

Do not ever even think about anything but pure, pure, clean, pure derv in a common rail, ordinary diesel runs at around 1800 to 2000 psi common rail runs 23000 psi and injectors run out at over £200 a time, Rick

can someone put up the rules for using svo in my motor... only the local retards are giving me headache.

saying its illegal

they are fukwitz.

from memory the legal allowance introduced a few years back is something like 2500 litres per annum for personal use. In theory you should keep receipts to evidence that you haven't bought more, but at 25mpg thats something like 14000 miles per annum at reduced cost. Or 28,000 miles if you run 50/50.

and since it was legalised at that time, the constabulary show very little interest in the subject.

As Rick has underlined, common rail and direct injection diesels don't like it, nor do a lot of fuel pumps, so there actually aren't that many vehicles that can use it, which is why the revenue caved in on the matter. :thumbs

Its not unlawful Full stop period end of .....**** off idjit (them not you :D )

It only becomes unlawful if youre using in excess of your nontaxable threshold and dont pay tax on it.

However, think about it....its up to you to prove how much you have, or havent used.

Furthermore HMRC do not dip routinely for svo.

I would like to point out that using more than 2500L is not unlawful either .. only failure to pay the duty would become unlawful.

thanks guys....have explained a few ground rules , problem over:bow:bow:bow
