Valve clearances

Hi just joined the club so Hi to you all. Can someone please tell me what the valve clearances are for my Maverick 2.7 td on a R reg 1997 as i have read two differant settings both 10 thou and 14 thou and do you adjust on the rock or rule of 9. Many thanks Dave

on all the head gaskets we have done here, the rockers have been worn on the valve stem contact face so feelers would not work, what ever method you choose simply undo lock nut screw down till contact and back of quarter turn, it works believe me, there used to be a tool for just that years ago, think it was called spqr but could be wrong on the name but it had a click scale and you just looked up your engine and set it to the number of clicks, no faffin about with feelers, Rick
