used clutch wanted

I don't know how to operate this site well, but I'm hoping this message reaches someone somewhere - I just don't know where it'll appear on this site.
I'm based in Norfolk and am looking for somebody to supply and fit a secondhand clutch to my 1996 Maverick 2.7 diesel 7 seater.

Why would you want to fit a second hand clutch?

A second hand clutch is most likely to be worn out already.

There may be a small chance that a recent scrapper has had a recent clutch, so then the dismantling begins, more labour.

False economy.

I agree with the above, I've recently just swapped mine and I wouldn't want to do one again for a log time to come :lol

When you see the aggravation of whats involved to do the swap you want it to go right first time and I certainly wouldn't trust a 2nd hand clutch, who knows how long it's got left before it fails.

As a lot of us have found, the clutches in these trucks seem to fail in strange ways, rather than the driveplate friction material wearing out, they seem to either sheer their rivets or the adhesive material fails and the material just falls off giving some drive

I agree with everyone else with perhaps the exception of the flywheel the disc & pressure plate have to be new.

I was wondering if I needed to replace mine when I did my 3 litre mod but the lip was almost non existent and mine is pulling like an Ox now

Maverick clutch.

I do very few miles (cycle more miles per week than I cover in Mav) and am desperate to get cheapest job possible.
I've had an interesting response from one of the members (might have dealt with him in past but can't remember!) and am considering all suggestions.
I'm eighty years old, arthritic and receive Pension Credit, so cannot afford some of the astronomical labour costs charged by some garages. I do however, keep my word and any agreed price will be paid in cash and without quibble.

That's a nugget of information that needs expanding upon !

I got arrested whilst working in Germany for Jaywalking at 3.00 am by crossing when a red pedestrian light was showing. All 3 of us who were the worse for Dunkel Bier were taken to the Police Station and when they realised we were Brits they kicked us out after checking our Residents & Work Permits and giving us a lift home!

A couple of weeks latter when drinking in our favourite bar Kellerklaus an off duty Poizei bought us a round of Snapps........and so it went on. He turned out to be a great guy !

this will take sum trumping.
way back in 1968 i was in the merchant navy and docked at Galway,on shore leave with another chap from the ship we had a few as you do,it ended in a small punch up,i walked away and left him on his bum.
i carried on with my night and went back to the ship for bed.
in the morning it was my shift with the chap who did not muster so i went to his cabin to arouse him for work.
empty so i looked for him but no so i went to the 1st mate and explained what had happened last night so was given permission to look for him ashore.
the first place to look was the police station and went in and explained gave a description and yes he was there,i was invited round the counter and shown into a room then a real shock,the poor sod was on a slab dead.
now witnesses told the police about our punch up out side the bar we were at and i was promptly arrested on suspicion of murder.
i was 16 then so they took me back to the ship and it was impounded and a guard was with me at all times while the investigation went on.
to cut it down a bit he was alive when i left him and he went to a wimpy and got into a bit of bother with a chap who followed him on his way to ship.they started again and he was knocked out and fell oner the key side and when tide came in it drowned him.
the chap was sent to prison for manslaughter,the ship and i was released after a week,cost the company many thousands,and on our way we went.
got back to england and it was in the daily mirror with a pick of the ship,marion m,my mum read about it and i got a slap around the head,in those days we got a proper punishment i had a week off then went back to sea.true story.
