Hi Guys,
I haven't managed to log on for a bit due to work and a lapsed account, but today I have had a go at installing a USB power supply in the truck, which I was inspired to do after reading a recent post by a member here.
I bought the USB unit off of eBay (link below) for around £4.00 and decided to fit it in the cubbyhole under the heater controls. I picked up a 12v power supply from the cigar lighter feed and fitted a 2amp fuse between it and the USB unit.
Below is an image of how I fixed it. I used a step drill to make a tidy hole in the cubbyhole and fed the wire and USB trailing socket through. I was quite pleased with the result, however when my phone is plugged in it seems to interfere with the radio, especially on FM. This is not a major problem as my beloved Radio 4 is also on long wave
Does anyone now why this is the case, and if there is anyway to stop the problem... Can you still buy suppressors for radios even?
Here is the link for the unit...

And below a couple of pictures of the installation...
Regards
Alan
