Thought you might like too see one in the flesh as I've just got another .

Price is about 68 + vat now.

Still rate them as a great budget tyre

How deep is the tread from new out of curiosity

About 13 mm Adz , fitted the others last October and they are at about 10mm.

Done a fair few miles since then.

Brian

Yes your right, more like 18mm and more left on the ones on the car than I thought.

Must have measured wrong last time .

Happy days.

I keep reading this thread over and over again, and yet each time I come to a different conclusion as to what to go for:eek:
My 05 plate Terrano SWB is on 17" rims, with 235/65's fitted at the moment and I just can't make my mind up as to what tyres to go for.
Because I need 5 and don't do huge mileage I would obviously like to keep the price sub £100/tyre, I do go off-road as this is my shooting vehicle.
I'm torn between the Cooper ST and the Kumho KL71, so, Will the Kumho fit my rims with it being a 265  OR, Would I be better off going for the Cooper 245's:confused:
To complicate issues I would consider spacers if required for the Kumho's, but I've never been a big fan of them due to the extra stress they put on the bearings, Do they create bearing problems or not ?????
I'm beginning to think I've put to much thought into this and I'm at the point of going full circle with the end result of disappearing up my own backside:doh

TIA.

Chris:)

Kumho KL71 no question:D
Just been down the beach and my mate has coopers on his jeep:lol Absolutely no comparison on sand:D I left him standing:cool:
Still chuffed to bits with mine on the road too, nice n quiet and grippy:thumbs
Only slight down side I think is in really wet sloppy mud stuff:eek:

are you saying your mud tyres are crap in the mud

thats the trouble with the kl71 the tread in not very deep from new. but yes very quiet on the road great in snow etc

so far very happy with my Kumlo's - truth be told not found myself in any serious mucky stuff as yet... hopefully that won't be too far off :)

Totally agree :lol KL71's are 110% in all conditions & no road noise :clap
BUT !
In proper wet / boggy mud they are shit :(
UNLESS !
You switch the right side for the left so the tread is the wrong way then they dig in :sly :naughty :D :augie :thumbs

are you saying your mud tyres are crap in the mud

The KL71 is "STAMPED" "Road Ventura Mud Terrain".!
NOT a complete "M/T" tyre.! like others.!

But mine haven't worn except the n/s front (due to idler) & still has the paint lines  :bow
& you all know the millage & abuse mine gets :augie :lol :thumbs

well it's all a bit hard to tell:augie
When you pull your finger out and get yours back on the dirt, we can compare grip in various conditions with diff tyres:sly
Over all I think we're still beating all bar the diff locked landies on the bonkas stuff:naughty so the tyres are pretty damn good I reckon:cool:

KUMHO KL71's

:bow :thumb2 ARE THE ABSOLUTE NUTS :thumb2 :bow

I cant fault these tyres at all :D

Road dry or wet
Gravel dry or wet
Grass, mud, sand dry or wet

Just absolutely 100% the nuts

Only test now is tread life :augie

How is tread life looking on those KL71's. I'll be needing a set of tyres soon and interested in the KL71's but I do a lot of road miles.

I've put about 6000 miles on them on & off road & not much tread gone off them apart from the near side front due to camber issus...

I would recommend them to anybody unless you do alot of off road mud & it is for that reason only that when they do wear out I'm going for Hankook Dyna pros :sly :naughty :D :thumbs

Thanks for reply. I don't do a lot of off road mud but the bit of off road mud I do need to get through is more slick greasy grassy mud on slopes where all wheels tend to start spinning if one starts.
Why the Hankook dyna pros? They do look very tasty.

KL's will suite you fine :thumbs

Deeper tread & seem to handle the mud better :naughty

Adz, Thanks for advice. Any idea what the hankooks are like on road?
