Once me KL71's wear out, these will now definately be replacing them as the rubber is a lot harder & wont get slashed as easy plus these will be used for Everyday & Green Laning :D

Road usage (including lugging a pikey-van), grassy fields and very light 'laneing.
On road 10/10: No noise & very good grip and stability in both wet & dry.
Off road 2/10: Very wet mud may as well be sheet ice! Cope with fairly rough dry ground so long as you're going really slow.

My truck came with a brand new set of 4 of these when i bought it back in january.
No road noise whatsoever, excellent grip in dry weather, but i have to say i am not impressed with their road holding in the wet, on a few occassions my back end has had a wiggle in the wet.
Personally i would'nt recommend them.

Anyone tried the BF Goodrich Mud terrain tyres?

these came in at second place in an off road test with the kuhmo kl71's first and wrangler goodyear mt's in third.
was a couple of years ago so things could have changed since then but still a good tyre though if not a bit expensive.

They are a bit expensive. The kl71s seem very reasonable I have some All terrain kumhos on the back of my vitara and havn't had any problems.

Although the local tyre dealer says they don't like kumhos because they say the sidewalls are prone to damage.

had kuhmos on my old motor but never really put them to the test.did a few laning days with them on and coped well.not too noisy on the road unlike the maxxis buckshot mudders ive got on now.
dont really do alot of milage so i can live with the noise.good off road all though i did get stuck in deep ruts but then it was lack of ground clearance that got me.not very good on the wet tarmac tend to lock up under heavy braking.
it all really depends on what you are doing and how deep your pockets are.

Done 15000 miles on mine & the side walls are still like new

The rear tread has barely warn

The front inner & outer edges have warn due to idler

KL71's over BFG's any day of the week & half the price

General Grabber A/T2 over BFG A/T all day long

KL71's / Maxxis Buckshot / Hankook RT03's over BFG Mud Terrains all day long

BFG are over priced & in modern day over rated

The only thing they have going for them now is there life span

What does the lettering on 4x4 tyres mean, some have A/T others have H/T.
I assume that A/T= All Terrain, what does H/T mean?

highway terrrain.

got h/ts on the troll, and been round pretty much all of notts and derbyshire
lanes no problem either in 2wd, 2wd and rear diff locked, or 4wd.

next time wll have grabber at2 as were superb on terrano.

would like kumbo kl71s but dont do them in 265/70, only 265/75x16 but
wonder if too aggressive for towing with.

anyone care to comment on this idea cant tow with muds!

Why not tow with muds on? Must say I am pleased with the chunky mud tyres I put on recently. Can't see any problem with them on the road (once I sorted out a fitting problem that had nothing to do with the tyres) or pulling a load? Hell of a lot better on road than the part worn road tyres I had on before them. I don't tow trailers or caravans on a regular basis though so others will have more trustworthy comments than me on the subject.

Mine have been on for a year & as far as road use goes i can't fault them at all & are excellent in the snow :thumbs

I don't think they deserve the M/T stamp as i have said before they don't self clean & bog up :( That's my only fault with them :thumbs

I don't think ya'd have a problem :thumbs

anybody know what Nankang Wide Conqueror a/t m+s are like

can't comment about the snow, but they're shite in the mud. They clog straight up and you might as well have slicks on. OK on the road though, no problems at all and they seem to wear well.
