Been adding 2T for a few months now. Definite difference.
An easy way to get the 1:200 mix right is however many litres of diesel I put in, I add 5ml of oil per litre. So if I put in 50 litres then thats 250ml of oil, or 20 litres is 100ml of oil. Simples.:thumb2

I am going to give this a try. The Patrol has done 163k miles and could do with a bit of tlc. If it makes it rattle less in the morning that would be an improvement :)

So would this still apply for mine? It's only done 44k miles...

Is there and easy way to measure and add, like a large syringe? I remember my old 2 stroke moped (before they had an oil tank), you used to go to the petrol station and get the 2 stroke oil pump, dial in what measure you want and push the plunger down... happy days.

It's good for any age/mileage of vehicle bud :thumb2

The 2 stroke I get has volume marks on the bottle which lets me measure (accurately enough) what I'm putting in :nenau

I've got some castrol 2t oil in my garage and I know it's £10 or £12 a bottle but doesn't say if it's mineral or synthetic ? Any ideas ?

stick it in, no harm will be done, Rick

Sure it was mentioned that mineral is best, don't know why though :nenau

Thanks rick I've got 12 bottles of it as I got it cheap in tesco :thumb2

ok, quick update. Only been a couple of days so far, but I only had about 20 litres of fuel, meaning about 100ml of 2stroke. Probably need to wait a awhile longer, but I think its made a difference already - unless I am imagining it...

SEEMS a touch quieter, seems smoother, I keep trying but I cant see much or any smoke out the back.

I am probably imagining it and its probably a placebo effect but it really does seem a bit better so far....

It feels better driving along in fourth between 30-40 mph. Normally I get a right vibration/hum through the cabin but its much improved and smoother now and picks up nicely.

well, hopefully it will improve as the miles go on...

again, thanks very much everyone for the advice, sorry for barging in Jim!!:bow

Good news its working Clive, im still not 100% sure about how much to put in so not tried it.

For a full tank about 350-400ml of 2 stroke if my maths has been right that's what i'm putting in anyway. Can tell when it wants some more in by the sound of the engine:lol but it must have/been cleaning the system out as i'm no longer kicking out black smoke when giving it some beans:thumb2

Started using 2 stroke my self now too early to say if it has been an improvement, I can't see it can be a bad thing any way & I intend to run other diesels on it as well.

Funny you say black smoke, I've only ever had white smoke but rarely will my old girl smoke, I just chuck in whatever whenever :thumb2

In theory this may burn your pocket though :doh
