okay...so how do i fix it?
Can it be fixed or is it an engine rebuild?
I can't think what would stop it from starting, basically, too much crank case pressure, could blow seals, and gaskets, and even the core plugs, but to be honest, I would have thought the fact that it blew out the dip stick, should have stopped the pressure getting too high.
I am not sure how you blocked off the breather system, what did you actually do?
When it was running, and then stopped, how did it die, e.g, did the engine speed up, and then just die, did it sound laboured, did it hunt?
okay...i will do it in the morning when its light
It is really daft now i have sat down and thought about what i did...
What i did was cut through the pipe that comes from the blow by valve to the inlet pipe and pushed a cut down bolt in between and sealed them with a couple of jubilee clips so that the pipe was still in place but blocked off.
Then i started it and had it running for a few minutes and it started throwing out lots of smoke and spluttered and stalled....then wouldnt restart at all.
It was then i noticed the pool of oil on the floor.
When i looked at the drivers side of the engine i noticed the highest pointy that the oil is evident is the dip stick....
Hi all, i stripped the blow back valve off and the intercooler and the associated pipes and cleaned them all out.
the i put it all back together but sealed the pipe from the blow back valve to the air inlet and ran the car, all seemed well to start with then lots of smoke....and it stopped.
I then noticed under the car a pool of engine oil....
I think i have traced the oil coming from the dip stick as that is the highest point that oil is visible.
I then realised i had mis-interpreted the thing people were talking about with the blow back valve pipe and it shouldnt have been blocked off as this would then cause back pressure in the engine...
"]The problem is the motor wont start now....its turning over well but quickly drains the battery.[/COLOR]
can anyone tell me what i have done and how to fix it please?
Any help or advice is much appreciated
but he says it turns over really well if it was hydro locked then it woundnt even turn but y it wouldn't start don't no mate:nenaudefinitely sounds hydro locked to me

sorry didn't no it would be that big :lol
The thing is, a Diesel will run on the oil, as mine did when the turbo pumped it in, so I don't think oil above the pistons will be a problem, it would just burn it, and rev faster.
I am wondering, when I was having all my issues "oil using issues", someone said something about there being a seal between the fuel pump and the engine, maybe it has blown that, so the pump is no longer able to pump the diesel.. As I say, I do not know anything about this seal, but it was a suspect when I was having all my issues, and filed away for later use, which I never needed.
I have returned the pipe as it should be....i got a piece of 15mm copper pipe and placed it between the piece that i cut and secured with jubilee clips...so it is breathing as it was originally...
Richo, when you hydro locked yours with oil what did you do, just remove glow plugs and spin it over and did that clear it and allow it to run?
i've hydro locked a diesel before with oil, symptoms were exactly the same other than it wouldn't turn over, mine was from having my brother helpfully topping up the oil for me, he toppes it up enough to come out the air intake when the engine was turn over :doh :lol :lol
