fuel saver

don't see what all the fuss is about myself :? for about a tenner for the ones off e bay if it does work then its hardly cost you a fortune.if it don't work you can always use it for a wind chime   might try one myself to kill my curiosity and be a guinea pig for the sceptics.iv'e got nothing to lose or gain from this(only a tenner and my mrs can spend that for me in about 5 seconds)

Sounds like you are one of those that if you can prove something 100% you'd still argue just for the sake of it.

Nope, I'm just one of those that believes that an unlikely claim should be supported with real proof not just by repeated assertion.

Cheers

I'm with AndrewK, manufacturers spend thousands if not millions of pounds getting the inlet tract just right, not sure about the TD models but the petrol has resonance tubes on the inlet to tune it, anything you put in th e wy of the flow will ruin the tuned tengths and reduce flow, if it were as simple as putting some windmill type affair in th einlet manufacturers would be doing it especially with all the attention they give to emmisions and CO2 output etc, I dared to question cyclones and got shot down in flames many months back, exactly the same with hydrigen generators, everyone read it on the internet (so it must be right) but I don't see anyone back on here (a good few months on now) reporting back saying how successfull it was.

As well as manufacturers I can promise you that if they worked they'd e being fitted to competiton cars by the bucket load, people send £ks to see a gain of a few bhp they certainly wouldn't sniff at £10 for a couple more, een a fuel saving would be worth it, if you hink diesels expensive try competion petrol last time I heard it was over £5/L and that was a couple of years back, plus you could put less in and save weight and be faster.

As the old saying goes if something looks to good to be true.....

I can understand you saying that - but maybe you need to just accept that you have a fault that needs fixing. If you cannot fix the fault yourself then I guess you'll need to pay someone to fix it for you. You could put the money that you'll save by not buying one of these things towards the repair bill.

Motors can run rough for all sorts of reasons - but I doubt that one of these aluminium foil swirly things is a fix for any of them.

Best of luck with fixing your motor

Turbo fuel Saver

andian61.Iwill watch this article with interest. To my knowledge, you have not mentioned the company in the USA but I did see a mention of a name in England Is there a possibility that you have a sub francise, I will veiw this article with an air of caution! Icant see Alistair Darling or Gordon Brown allowing a product with this claimed effect being let loose in this country without some heavy sanchions.:thumb:I'll happily pay you for one and it will have a fair test as I have already run a 5 gear 0 to 60 complete with revs, speed and time on the other site paul332 ,cosmic or sweety may be able to confirm but andian61 i would appriceate if you could limit
your use of the english language to basic and simple sentences (As at no time have I used snake oil Terminology, and If you would like some time to check through the content of the english langauge I think you will find It does not exist.O and by the way according to your profile neither do you Yours Sincerly

Hi guys, I'm reading this with interest and yes we've had it before.

I'll point out now I've got 2 hiclones in my patrol and had 2 in my terrano.

Yes I believe they work.
I also DO NOT work for any fuel saving device company.

Im not getting into an argument with the snake oil brigade

Could you please do a google on FLUID FLOW CHARACTERISTICS. This includes gases not just liquid

You will find reference to Laminar and Turbulent Flow and friction.

You will read about velocity, boundray layer, transition layer and boundry layer drag and not forgetting Reynolds number. This is what hiclones are about.

The things on ebay look nothing like hiclones. 8O

I'm not posting in this thread again enjoy your reading.

AT the 2006 Rally, shark1e had a test rig from hiclone showing air flow with and without hiclone using smoke, it was very impressive

Don't be impertinent!!! Some of us studied this stuff on the route to professional engineering qualifications decades ago. If you have a point to make then make it.

If you read the Popular Mechanics article that I linked to above, you'll see that these devices do not reveal their supposed positive attributes when subjected to scientific testing. I have been unable to locate any genuine independent (of those promoting the product), published test results that support the notion that inserting the devices (or anything similar) into the intake airstream to an engine has any positive benefit.

I don't actually think there's much else to say unless those promoting these devices can actually stump up with some real evidence of their positive effect.

Cheers
